Is this submission worth using upgrade? This submission has no pokestop in its s2 cell (the small square). So is there a chance that it can become a pokestop instead of an powerspot?
Also I use IITC app to check the s2 cells, is it accurate? And is it true that only 1 pokestop can be made into an s2 cell and only 2 powerstops are be active at a time in the bigger cell?
I would say no, as your supporting photo doesn’t show the POI with the surrounding area, just the surrounding area. Supporting photos need to show what you are nominating in the surrounding area, not just the surrounding area.
Because of these 2 reasons, it’s possible that this could be rejected for inaccurate location and/or influencing reviewers, with inaccurate location being more likely, especially since this appears to be indoors and doesn’t have Street View.
IITC is no longer a part of Wayfarer, as Ingress split from Wayfarer on May 23rd, 2025. Scopely bought Wayfarer, PoGo, and some of the other games, while Ingress is owned by the new Niantic Spatial, and are developing their own nomination/review program. Since the Ingress map no longer syncs with Wayfarer, the Intel map doesn’t show any approved Wayspots after May 23rd. More info about this can be found here:
Thanks for the reply. I can edit my submission so can you help me improve it by help me in the description? And what picture should I add as you said that surrounding area isn’t good.
For the iitc, i only use it for checking the s2 cells, I just wanted to know if it is accurate in determining location of the cells
You can’t change the photos, though, just the text.
IITC S2 overlay is 3rd party and not controlled by Wayfarer, so it cannot be said that it’s exactly accurate, but I have found it to be pretty accurate.
iitc with pogotools will show the cells accurately. it will not show all wayspots - you must compare to what you see in game. the nomination map screen can help you check for existing wayspots.
you cannot edit the photos or the location once you have submitted, only the text. you could make a new nomination and withdraw this one. your supporting photo should show the point of interest in the main photo, as well as more of the surrounding area to help convince reviewers that it is where you say it is.
a lot more care could have been taken with the main photo. you have way too much of the floor and don’t include the full mural in the picture. i like to take my photos before i begin my nominations so that i can see what they look like in my gallery, and straighten or crop if needed. then choose the “existing photo” option when i submit.
the last sentence in your description has nothing to do with the mural and should be deleted.
oh i see Dtrain typing so will hit enter and let him continue helping =)
Well the mural is inside of a tower so there is no photo which can make people believe that it’s there so there would be no street view. (Tho I won’t lie bit it’s legit)
Tbh in my country, when I review there are pretty rare cases that I can find a submission from Google Street view as mostly it is either not there or even if it is, it is not near enough (maybe on the main road or different street) which disallow me to check using it.
Yes, regardless if something is or isn’t on Street View, the supporting photo should show the POI with the surrounding area, not just the surrounding area. I’ve nominated many things not on Street View, including POIs inside buildings, and I still make sure to show it with the surrounding area. This better proves to the reviewer that the POI most likely exists.
It could well be a bespoke version created by the artist for the building owners as it contains the logo of the building and is different so it may be a one off print (especially as you mention other blocks feature other famous sports people). I haven’t seen any evidence of it being more widely available. If you can before you try I would see if you can establish the facts which can then go in the supplementary information.
Yes a picture that shows the context of where it is relative to the lobby would be a big improvement.
I understand the frustration of submitting and the end result is not a pokestop that you hoped for but a powerspot. Nevertheless, when it comes to placing the pin position for this object you should be as accurate as you can, without considering the cell lines. Knowing the cells is useful to know if it will appear when correctly placed. It should be done in that order rather than trying to place something into an empty cell.
Finally on Reddit there was some wrong information regarding suspensions and auto rejections. If you place the pin position accurately and provide accurate information about an object there is nothing to be concerned about.
Sorry if I understood something wrong but Yes, it is not like many copies available. While building the tower, each lobby had a unique painting/mural for some people representing the country international in sports in categories like chess, cricket etc. They are unique.
For the s2 cells I was not going to abuse iit to select locations in different s2 cells. I just wanted to know, my thinking was to see if an s2 cell is empty and iif that s2 cell has anything which can be submitted, ill select a nomination.
Truly and honestly, i did not mean to abuse it.
In the end, according to you how should I go about this submission? I have learned to made the pictures better by choosing those which has surrounding and the painting visible. I will also remove the part having “pokestop” written. (And we can’t add more that 1 supporting image right?)
Hi @Sash12321
You can make a collage for your support photo to give more than one image.
And yes you’ve understood it perfectly right, your supporting photo should show the POI in it’s surrounding.
About which level on the tower are we talking? Base level? Is there an opportunity to make a picture from outside the building which contains the POI?
Do they have Facebook or instagram presence? You can add links (in your supporting informations only - never in the description!) if available.
Yes, thank you i have understood everything now
Yes, its base level (ground floor) no there is no way to click a photo which also shows the tower from outside and also have the painting. I’ll try my best for a good pic tho.
And i am sorry to every person who helped me, for asking such silly questions and wasting your time.
You haven’t wasted anyone’s time at all.
Asking questions is the right thing to do and seeking advice about what to do is absolutely correct.
From what you have clarified that all sounds good to go
Absolutely not silly questions. I think there were a couple of things we didn’t get to about upgrades. All they do is send your nomination to a wider review pool once it goes into voting. It doesn’t upgrade the chance of being accepted, which is a common misunderstanding. It also does not send it directly to voting.
We recommend that you don’t use an upgrade for at least 24 hours after you have submitted the nomination. That is about the time the Machine Learning model “automated process” can reject your nomination, and also about the time that the nomination may be pulled into internal review - which is a standard thing they do and nothing to worry about if it happens. Since the upgrade only affects community review, it is wasted if either of these happen.
I usually wait for several days before applying an upgrade to see how the nomination is progressing. If it is not moving quickly enough for my liking, I use an upgrade. I have not had anything take more than a few weeks without one recently, and many are just a few days.
