I am looking for help getting some little free libraries approved. On the website it says the count as long as they are publicly accessible and in a public place. Both of these are on easements which are public and are publicly accessible. They keep getting auto rejected or rejected for being on private property. They are not they are on the side walk and meant for public use. This is despite seeing stops for these Libraries that are behind fences. I have seen multiple with the same sidewalk set up approved. The addresses are 6036 N oriole, Chicago il and 6213 N Canfeild Rd Chicago. Titled Little free library canfeild and Oriole respectively. The one that I was able to apple the wayfarer message said it was on private property. I think this may be a cultural disconnect where in another country the private property might be just off the side walk in Illinois it’s a public easement for walking and utilities unless you get permission for a gate. I am at a loss on how to get these into voting.
The ones you have shown are on the home side of the sidewalk. Those are almost always considered SFPRP (single family private residential property). Just being able to reach it from the sidewalk is not enough.
If this is not the case here, you will need to offer legal documentation with every submission. The places where they can be acceptable even if it front of a home are usually between the sidewalk and the road. And even then, it is could to provide proof that it is considered public property there.

But then how are all the other ones on the home side of the sidewalk approved?
Sometimes things slip though review that should not be approved. Never use nearby pokestops as a reason that something is eligible. Also criteria changes over time and the waypoint system has been around for 12 years with many changes in what’s acceptable.
In addition to what @niktero said, sometimes the house isn’t actually “single family” and the location could be considered eligible. If they are SFPRP and are reported, Niantic removes them.
You can see clarification about LFL above. Some reviewer dont read criteria and approve them anyway. But these falsely accepted wayspot are just on borrowed time until someone report them
