Help With Location Edit for Own Submission Mistake

Hello everyone, I submitted a POI that is a real location, a playground in a park in newly built suburb, but now that I look at it on the map, I can see I submitted it in the wrong location in my haste because I was walking around and not paying enough attention to what I was doing, the trouble being there is not yet an updated satellite view even showing it exists.

I wanted to get its location moved to exactly where it actually is, not in the street near where it is, the problem is if I request a location edit from the PokeStop in game, people will be voting on a map that shows nothing but a grass field.

What is the best way to fix this? Should I just wait for someone else to eventually fix it when an actual sattelite updated map exists? Should I take a chance with the voting system despite knowing they will have nothing to be voting on except two points on a grass field? Or request that it is removed until then and someone else can resubmit it?

I suggest to request it will be rejected by staff, to avoid any trouble.

Edit: if the wayspot has already been approved, use the helpchat to move it to the correct location (you will need a geotagged picture)

I don’t think there is anything to reject at the moment.

What is the best the way to do that? Is there a way to open a ticket with them on here?

Edit: How do I open help chat?

Niantic Wayfarer (Choose the help chat in the bottom right corner)

Thank you!

Edit: Opened a ticket, it said it will get back to be me.

Am I missing something or couldn’t you just withdraw and resubmit?

It is live, I think.

Is there anything that help chat can use to validate your request to move the pin? Did you send them location tagged photos or anything? You can still add to your ticket if you have more proof.

Yeah, I submitted it only a few days ago and it was accepted so fast I didn’t even realize my mistake until just now.

I have the two photos from when I submitted it, but I don’t know if they are geotagged.

Go ahead and send them anyway if they help to prove the location since you said that it can’t be seen on satellite view. They will ask you if they need more evidence.

Okay, will do.

Oh, I happen to have a location edit ticket open right now. The paper clip is where I could add photos if needed, but I don’t think it will be for mine.

Actually made the same mistake a few months ago:

They helped me very fast (luckily on my IPhone I had the pictures with the exact coordinates)

Thanks, my fingers are crossed, the location is close, so I’m hoping they can fix it.

This is my first time making this mistake, I was walking and talking to someone, and then when I went to the submit page and it pulled up the map where you place the pin we were already down the street and I was given a view of a grassy field, not just the park, but the entire neighborhood doesn’t exist on the map. I should have asked the person I was walking with to wait for me to go back, but I wasn’t thinking and was like half paying attention to them, half paying attention to what I was doing.

I have bumped the map and not noticed more than once. It happens. Especially when satellite view at the site does not make it obvious. I am glad it is easier to correct these days.
