I nominated a location which was discussed in a book = “the Sentinel Bushes”
It wasn’t accepted, so there’s another literary spot that will be denied furthering.
Welcome to the forum! I sympathize. If you’d like to start a thread with your rejected nomination, I’m sure the community will be happy to help with establishing whether it can be furthered, and with achieving that if so.
Welcome!
This does seem interesting however the book you cite does not come up with cursory Google search. As the acceptance involves a combination of content by the submitter, actual location, and other context, it may best be posted as Nomination Support to precisely assess this nomination.
I don’t understand. I was directed to ask for help.
You will find it on Amazon.
The website seem to change the results based on location and I don’t see any book of the title from mine.
This shows that the submitter may need to specify and direct reviewers towards the evidence as each experience may be different.
I sent OP a direct message asking them not to hijack the Literary topic and to make a post in Nomination Support. Since they refused to do that, i have split out the off topic posts and moved them here.
@hedgehog18072 it would help us to help you if you would post screenshots of your rejected nomination.
I looked for a book called The Sentinel Bushes on Amazon.com, but nothing comes up, and a regular web search didn’t bring anything up either. Keep in mind that Amazon has many international sites, such as Amazon.ca for Canada or Amazon.co.uk for the UK, and not everything is listed on Amazon.com. There are items only listed on some of the international sites, so if this is an international title, it may not be on Amazon.com.
If you could provide a screenshot of your nomination from Contribution Management, as well as a link to the book, that would be helpful.
I am very confused and frustrated with the process of nominating POI’s. I have seen hundreds, even thousands, of successful nominated Wayspots. I find ones to nominate that reflect those that I see are accepted. Even better ones than some I see that get accepted! Nothing I do works out. I struggle to make a great POI, get it accepted on appeal, only to have someone in my local community contest it (falsely), and it gets removed. I recently nominated a POI that should have been a slam dunk. And it was very distant so that the person who undermines everything i nominate wouldn’t see it. My nominated spot is very comparable with successfully nominated POI’s that others have done. But it doesn’t work out for me. Why? Do I need to pay to get a Wayspot? There has to be some tricks, payoffs, other? to getting a successful nomination. I have read all the criteria. I follow all the criteria. It is abundantly clear that these criteria are NOT being consistently or uniformly applied in approval of Wayspots. Tell me how the attached photos are fine and acceptable POI’s, but nothing that I nominated is acceptable. It is hopeless. These spots were successful, and they couldn’t be more generic (the supposed reason my recent nominated spot wasn’t acceptable). And one of these even has an elevated status !! (It’s a gym!! HOW?) Criteria are not being followed consistently, so what really needs to be done to get an approved spot? Who do I need to know? There is no reason those I see can be so superior to what I have nominated. I don’t understand what I am supposed to do, and it’s totally frustrating. And unfair.
We asked to see your nomination.
Things get accepted incorrectly. It happens. You can report these if you think they don’t meet criteria.
Other things being accepted have nothing to do with yours not being accepted. If you want help, we are willing to give it, if you post your nomination.
There’s a lot to unpack in this comment.

Do not look at other things that have been approved to figure out what you could/should submit. The criteria has changed over the years. So what was allowed 9 or 10 years ago may not still be allowed now.
-
Can you list for us what the criteria are? You say that you follow “all the criteria,” but I’m guessing that you have based your knowledge on what you’ve seen and what other game players have told you. Most new people on this forum haven’t actually read the real Wayfarer criteria.

There is no such thing as wayspots getting an elevated status. The things that become gyms in PGO, are nit hand picked as good examples of wayspots. It’s an algorithm that the game works out to determine which thing will be promoted to a different kind of item in PGO, often it is completely random. Neither item in PGO has a higher status than any other - Pokestops, Gyms, Power Spots all provide interaction points.

We CANNOT help you unless you show us screenshots of your rejected nominations. The people on this forum have collectively gotten hundreds of thousands of wayspots approved. We know how to help.
I am unconvinced that you are willing to help me. No one ever does. I don’t feel it’s my place to report spots that were accepted by the process. I just want to know how to get a spot accepted. What tricks do others use to get poor quality spots accepted? There are so many that I have seen that have not followed the listed criteria, so it’s nothing uncommon for generic / poor examples to become Wayspots. How? What is it that I can do to get the inside track, like others do? And I am only looking to nominate spots that follow the criteria - without having these denied for a change. How do people do that?
There’s no magic trick. Read the forum. Go to Criteria Clarification Collection .
Read topics in Nomination Support to see the advice people are getting on what to write and what to submit.
If you don’t actually want our help, we can’t do anything. You seem to only want to complain about other people. That thought pattern will only lead to misery.
Wow. I spend hours and hours on here every day trying to help people. Sorry you don’t believe that we do that here.
I don’t know of any tricks to get poor quality spots accepted.
Criteria is a great place to exercise, explore, or be social. All you have to do to get something accepted is convince reviewers that your nomination meets one of those. Best of luck to you.
Well, and NOT nominate something on an ineligible location like single family residential property or a school or the middle of a road. Thise trip up a lit of people… (But i know you know that.)
Starting to understand why you had to create this post instead of them.
Cyndie is one of the most supportive and helpful people on this forum.
We would all help you if you share an example of a nomination that was rejected. We can advise if the rejection was accurate or not and why, and what could be done better if needed.
Uh, huh.
That’s what I thought.
Some people can breeze through this and get anything accepted, but as hard as I try, I am not going to be successful.
You are just trolling at this point. Please find a constructive way to spend your time.
