Historical cemeteries in Cranston RI

Hello, I have noticed 2 historical cemeteries in Cranston RI United States that aren’t portals (Ingres) #28 and 32. I didn’t have time to stop and get exact geo location. I’m curious if there is a reason why they aren’t portals.

Cemeteries can be really tricky for wayspot nominations right now.

There was a recent clarification from Niantic that addresses this:

Cemeteries & Other Sensitive Locations

Sensitive locations such as funeral homes, burial grounds, cemeteries, and graveyards should generally be avoided out of respect, but gravestones belonging to historical figures or significant community figures can be eligible if the nominator provides evidence for their historical importance. For me I try and make sure it isn’t a cemetery with active burials. I would not want to be playing a game there while people are grieving their recently lost loved ones.

I also am very hesitant to accept even old cemeteries. They are still sacred ground that should be respected imo. If the submitter can convince me this has become a tourist attraction type historic site, I will consider it.

There is a veteran’s cemetery in Exeter Rhode Island United States. Many portals there and it is still an active burial site. Most players are respectful and hopefully will leave if a ceremony was taking place.
