Note del ricorso

This appeal rejection can be frustrating, especially because there is nothing in the submission guidelines/criteria/clarifications to say that restaurants and cafes must be hyperlocal hangouts.

In your position, I would retry with a different photo (definitely do not reuse since it was automatically rejected) and hope it can get past the automatic filter for community review.

Maybe something with a wider crop, showing not just “NEXUS” but also the words to either side and a little bit of the context. Obviously you have to avoid people, so this might not be easy. I would also have gone with a tight crop, but with the automation rejection, try something different.

Make sure in your supporting text you include the links to prove this has excellent reviews.

Your supporting photo (multip[le photos, if using web submission) can contain people, so make sure this/these show the restaurant in use, as you did here. The busy outside seating alone should make this qualify as a social place.

I’m really disappointed by this outcome. I feel I provided solid proof that this location is a perfect place to socialize. On top of that, both my friend and I have always been told on this forum to go ahead and submit bars. So, having this appeal rejected makes absolutely no sense to me.

I recommend putting that behind you and trying again. I have seen other threads with the “hyperlocal hangout” rejection text, with both the poster and other forum members feeling it was unhelpful and overly strict, so you are not alone with that.

Can you give us that “solid proof” you provided? Right now I only see the original description you included which makes a statement, but does not provide any proof. Proof would typically come in the form of a link to a site with a lot of high reviews (possibly Google or whatever is used in your country), a link to a news article about how successful this place is, a link to any awards it has won, or a link to their own website where they describe the success and history of the business. But just typing “The venue is a key social hub for the Genzano di Roma neighborhood, serving as a gathering place for breakfast, coffee breaks, and convivial aperitifs,” doesn’t prove anything.

I don’t think the Appeal reviewers are saying this place is absolutely not eligible, I think they are just saying that you haven’t convinced them that it IS eligible yet.

It has a better star rating on Google that on the restaurantguru link you provided in your supporting information.

Looking at this cafe/bar/restaurant on streetview, I’d be happy to accept it and you can get a no-people shot at the right time of day.

Google Maps (don’t use a photo from streetview!)

I actually posted links to positive reviews in both my application and appeal, as well as a photo of the bar full of people? Bruh

I missed the link you provided in the appeal. I realize English is not your first language. Please understand that “bruh” comes across as rude and dismissive. I am trying to provide the help you have asked for.

Also, I would not consider a photo showing the place full of people to be proof.

The link to the chamber of commerce page where people can get business certificates is not good support for the point you’re making. Any websites about events/parties/meetings that take place at the cafe would be better to support it as a social hub.

I used that link to prove the place exists. I also sent links to expert reviews to show that the place is well-regarded, as well as a photo showing it full of people. I don’t know if they host events, but I don’t think a bar necessarily has to host events to be a good place to socialize. The guidelines don’t say so; they simply say it has to be very popular.
