Informazioni supplementari

From a UK perspective, the way I reviews Pubs is whether they are Family Friendly.

Lots will now be more like Restaurants so if they have “Kids Meals” on the menu then Accept otherwise Reject.

Others may have a “Play Area” in the Garden.

For restaurants and pubs, it can be difficult to get them through without providing evidence of how they’re social hubs. Like, if there’s any events held there, website links or newspaper articles about those can be great supporting information. Or even nab a photo of it completely full as supplemental information (remember, with web submit, you can have up to 5 supporting images, which allows you to more fully back up the idea that this is a community social hub).

But I’ll be honest, yeah, 3 rejects on a restaurant is not particularly surprising to me.

Regarding the appeal, I have already included invitations to concerts and other similar documentation.

If this was in the UK it should have been an easy submission, I don’t know of any pubs I’ve seen either locally or while travelling which were not already PoIs.

Pubs are a great place to be social and everyone is welcome, children and adults alike.

I think your picture lets it down with the doors being shut. It looks closed, and reviewers have no imagination! I would make use of the new website submit to add some pictures of the interior as well as external, and I would add your supporting information to talk about why its a good place to socialise. I would also make the description more specific, because what you have written could apply to any place. If they sell a particular drink or menu item that is really cool, mention it. If they encourage games, or hold open mic nights, mention that.

If they have a childrens menu, or any provision for children, take a picture of it and add that as an additional supporting picture.

Yeah, that’s the thing—it’s really hard to take photos when they’re open because of all the people at the outdoor tables! I honestly don’t get it, though; it’s an Irish-style pub, and you don’t see many of those here in Italy

I would say take a busy picture and use it for one of the supporting pictures actually! Sort of demonstrates how good of a place it is to be social

You could also crop the main picture to focus on the sign - which would cut out the bulk of the closed doors, and draw the attention away from them?

I would vote for this, but I’m in the UK and a “pub” is an easy accept. Although strictly speaking this looks like a bar which can be a little harder.

If you want to resubmit then I would straighten out the main photo and do something to enhance the lettering which is a little hard to read, experiment with filters. Once you have the photo to your liking then you can submit it as an existing picture. I do like the idea of having the doors open, but crop out the people. You can include people in the supporting photo. Maybe do a night photo if the pub is lit up.

Question for more experienced reviewers. This pub is open from approx. 6pm to 2am. Are such “adult” opening times ok for a wayspot?

As someone who has lived in Italy, I don’t find that particularly surprising times for any sort of restaurant to be open. Culturally, there’s a midafternoon lull for “riposo" (called “siesta” in some parts), with activity resuming around 6pm, even for younger members of families.

Seems fairly standard operating times for a restaurant or pub. I wouldn’t go by this as a way to reject something. More importantly as a nomination I would include proof, such as a menu that shows the establishment as family friendly. If not included and I was reviewing I’d go online and check for myself if the are family friendly and/or see what kind of events they may hold.

Not an issue from my side - under 18s can stay up to visit at 6pm, and older visitors may attend the later hours. I remember as a child having to have a nap in the afternoon on days where we were going out to dinner, particularly on holiday in Europe where things started later than in the UK, so that I could stay up till 9pm!

The reason I wouls reject for an adult location is if they had age verification on the door, with bouncers checking IDs.
