I have a Pokemon in a Wayspot (PokeGym) in I believe Salem, Pulaski, etc, Virginia, but returned to central Arkansas. I decided to read the description and see
throughout as if the description was copied and pasted from a website. Does any way exist that will let me remove each instance of
? I might wish to make a lengthy description regarding September 11 less lengthy if possible. I know editing remotely is probably impossible but can’t know unless I ask. Here are examples of what I can see since I want another Gold Gym and have fed the Gym when able.

I don’t know anybody in these areas as I was only traveling when I took the Gyms.
I don’t know if you could report the issue in the help chat in the Wayfarer site or not. The risk of doing that is the Gym could get removed as a result. The best option is to get someone who is local(ish) to the gym to edit the description, or when you are next there to do it when you can.
That’s the problem. I returned from Philadelphia via Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Tennessee, and Arkansas. I am unlikely to be there again. I don’t know anyone in Virginia even in other parts of the state. The next time I enter Virginia is ultimately unknown assuming I do again besides flying. That’s my problem.
There may be someone on this forum who is local to that gym and knows where it is and probably can make the edit for you. You never know.
That’s different but actually helpful since I am unlikely to be able to make the edit there. If this wasn’t in Salem or Pulaski, we stayed the night near a city park in Abingdon, VA. Unless it is in one of those three towns, I cannot place the Wayspot.
This looks like a very old import. One of the older Ingress players would likely be able to explain more about these imports.
The term HMBD import is coming to mind. They were riddled with html.
I wonder if help chat in this instance could help clean this up as it is unusual. Worth a try 
I tried using help chat and will see. Time will tell if this works since I know of no other remote method.

Go to the gym, then click on upper left corner then upper right then Map Link.

I did request a description edit using help chat. That caused the Wayspot to be removed since it didn’t meet criteria. I actually looked to see what was there 10 months ago and agree with that decision. I have a tendency to not accept nominations just because it is a nomination. This should not have been accepted. Though causing a Wayspot to be removed was not my intent, I guess that unintentionally ends this question.

Those were imports I believe to create points in the early days of Ingress.
Criteria have changed so I assume the team reviewed it and decided it was no longer acceptable.
I don’t doubt this is no longer acceptable. I have Ingress Prime from several years ago but not before Pokemon GO but would not have accepted this had my Ingress account existed then. I don’t disagree with the decision made to retire the Wayspot. The sign was not part of the Wayspot. I tried to point down where the Wayspot existed.
You actually can do title and description edits via the Wayfarer map.
