I use my laptop but took photos on my phone if I some of what I type will sound odd.
An apartment complex in which I do not live had a name change in west Little Rock, Arkansas. That apartment complex has a Wayspot for the dog park that might or might not exist. If the dog park does not exist is not related to my question. I know nobody, including me, that lives in that apartment complex. I could reach the Portal while walking by in Ingress since those edits do not require a person to be as close. Does a way exist in Pokemon GO or even Pikmin Bloom to edit the title and description without actually visiting the Wayspot? Yes, that is a mushroom (except once destroyed) in Pikmin Bloom but already a known Wayspot. If I need to join this conversation using my phone where my screenshot and actual photo is, I can do that.
I will try that and see what if anything happens. I made sure to take a photo as I walked by the entrance to the apartment complex just in case that is wanted.
Help chat gonna need wayspot name and coordinate. Screenshot definitely help too.
If you want to edit title and description, you might need evidence to support that edit. Staff doesnt necesarily edit things as per what you ask. Staff will have his/her own judgement depending supporting information you provide.
If I understand the situation, I think that I would use the form for property owners linked at the top here under “Wayspot Removals”:
It can be used for modifications, too. You can present them the evidence that the name has changed in the form. The questions don’t always match up to what I want to do, but just pick something, then explain in the text box. If you use this form, you can select that you are not the property owner. The acknowledgement email may still ask for your credentials, but do not respond to this email. Wait until you get a reply from a specific human if more information is requested.
Help chat is much easier imo, but they don’t always handle what I want to do. And they don’t send emails. You could try that first and then try the form. “Criteria issues” there (in help chat) is under the “Abuse” heading if I recall correctly.
Oh, I used the Pikmon Bloom route to do the exact same thing just as I got that as a possible idea.
I used the edits from Ingress yesterday as my requested edits unless the description might be removed since it is a duplicate of the title. I actually typed that I am okay if the community makes the decision if the edits are made or not in Niantic Wayfarer. I doubt that is typical from Pikmon Bloom since we have very limited access to editing there unless we also have a Pokemon GO account.
