How do I get Niantic to remove a defunct business premises?

I have reported a local business as having closed down and moved to new premises, and cited three web references. Yet my report was rejected.

What more can I do? Why was the report rejected?

Sometimes wayspot reports get rejected when you initially submit them. You have come to the right place to request for that decision to be overturned though.

You can either create a new post in Wayspot Appeals , where you will see a template post (which I’ll post a short form version of below) requesting a few details, or you could probably reply to this thread with those details and a moderator could move the thread to the appeals section.

You’ll need to submit the following information:

  • Wayspot Title
  • Location (lat/lon)
  • City
  • Country
  • Screenshot of the Rejection Email (do not include your personal information)
  • Additional Information (if any)

Once you’ve submitted those details, it can take a few days for staff to review your appeal (especially over weekends), but they will reply when they’ve had a look at it.

It was rejected because the Wayspot didn’t meet our pocies for removal.

You don’t need to do anything more with regard to the removal report. The Wayspot has been moved to its correct location already, based on the information you provided. You should see the changes reflected soon. You can submit a new image of the business if you wish.

OK thanks. They need listed building consent for a new sign so I will wait for all that to happen before I take a new photo.

In a similar situation, I sent in an in game report with a photo of the (former restaurant’s) front door papered over and sporting a “for lease” real estate sign.
