How is this a wayspot, but NOT a pokestop?

According to Niantic, and their reply to my resubmission, this is already a wayspot. But we don’t get to have it as a pokestop? Whats the deal?

  • Wayspot Title:Roseburg-Shobu Sister Cities

  • Location (lat/lon):43.212666,-123.340081

  • City:Roseburg, Oregon

  • Country:USA

  • Screenshot of the Rejection Email (do not include your personal information):

  • Additional Information (if any):It should be able to be one as it lies at the opposite end of the library building. If this was denied by other voters, you don’t know Roseburg. If its in Ingress, no one plays that here. Our pokemon go community is trying to add more places in our game, so please stop stifling rural towns. Lattitude and longitude are approximate from google maps.

Hi @S0rrynaughtsry
Welcome to the forum :hugs:
I’ve moved your topic to Nomination Support so the community can try to help sort things out. Our category Wayspot Appeals is to ask for reinstating removed wayspots or for rejected removal reports.

Hello and welcome,

Are you willing to share your nomination from Contribution Management, some screenshots? Seeing the nomination will help us understand why this may have been rejected, along with the reason given by the appeals team.

It’s in the same Level 17 S2 Cell as “Shakespeare Quote”. Only one Pokéstop or Gym can be present in a Level 17 S2 Cell, so if Shakespeare Quote is a Pokéstop or Gym, it’s preventing the wayspot (which is in the database as “Sister Cities Monument”) from appearing in Pokémon Go.

On another note, I noticed you have two identical wayspots called “Dedicated to Joyce Morgan” in this area. One of them is obviously inaccurate, but I’ve not checked to see which one is correct and which one isn’t. You may wish to report the inaccurate one.

Also, this isn’t in Ingress either, as it wasn’t approved. It’s not on the database map, and it has to be approved to be on the map in order to be considered as a game play location.

I certainly understand wanting more Wayspots in rural areas, but the density rules do have to be followed, and the map must be accurate. This L17 S2 cell already has 3 Wayspots in it, so unfortunately, per the PoGo rules, another stop will not be added, even if you do get this nomination approved.

If you would like more info on how S2 cells work in PoGo, please see the following link:

It is in Ingress:

Ah, didn’t look around, just went to the lat/long provided. It’s in the cell next to it, to the west.
