I keep this written up for folks looking for their “Pokestop”:
I know the prompt tells you that you are submitting a “Pokestop” but you are actually submitting a Wayspot to Niantic’s Lightship database. The Wayspot can only become a Pokestop or gym if it is alone in a level 17 S2 cell. If you would like to leave the location, someone here can check if this is the issue. But do be aware this is a public forum if you would rather not reveal your location.

Every time she posts that link, pokemongohub pays her $1 and Niantic gives her a death stare. She’s a millionaire with a death stare from Niantic. Allegedly.

in all seriousness, i am grateful that pokemongohub published that article and that niantic is allowing us to explain about S2 cells on the forum. it alleviates so much frustration to understand why some accepted wayspots are going live in pokemon go and others aren’t.

I agree that the Pokemongohub article is a saving grace. I don’t quite fully remember all the S2 Cell malarky, but I trust what I understand in order to know what is and isn’t allowed. I’m grateful that Niantic allow it to be posted here.
