How long does it take to be reviewed

Any suggestions for getting a spot reviewed? I submitted a location about two months ago I feel like and it has yet to be reviewed. Any feedback is welcomed.

Welcome to the forum @pappysnydes

I usually recommend starting a new topic for a question like this, but there is no trick to getting a nomination reviewed. It is going to depend on how many active reviewers are in your area. And having too many nominations submitted close together also seems to affect how fast something moves.

If your nomination is not getting decided quickly enough for your liking, you can earn an upgrade for it by reviewing. An upgrade will push your nomination to a wider review pool. Even with an upgrade, there seems to be kind of a grace period, which can be about 1-7 days where it just won’t go into voting. And how long it takes while still in voting even with an upgrade also varies widely across the globe.

you can check your contributions page to get exact dates and see if it is still “in queue” or if it has progressed to the “in voting” stage:

Hello and welcome @pappysnydes

It’s not always clear where to post on this forum so I will create a new topic for you :sunglasses:

Sometimes it can take a long time for submissions to be reviewed and assessed.
The reviewing is done by the community so if you are in an area with a lot of active reviewers it can move quickly. If you have the opposite situation it can be slow.
Can you share roughly where the wayspot is please?
Have you checked in to the contributions page of the wayfarer website? Does it say in queue or in voting?
Sorry for all the questions but it helps us to give a better answer.

Thanks for the quick response and feedback. It says in voting, so hopefully something will be decided soon.

the spot is in Lancaster, PA.

Ok so you have some very big cities near you. So it might slow things down……but it might be better for someone in USA to comment.

In voting means that it has started its journey of being assessed.

The speed will depend on people reviewing.
If you do some reviewing you can work towards getting an upgrade.
An upgrade allows your nomination to be seen by more people so speeds up the process.

Before you put in that effort if you would like can you show us the nomination so we can check that the chance of success is high.

Hi @pappysnydes

I hate to say this, but this may not do well in community voting. It sounds like an advertisement for the company. You should always use your own words to describe a potential wayspot. People may think this is Third Part text.

Also you don’t seem to address how this would meet criteria.

Can you answer how you think this would be a Great place to do one or more of the following:

  • be social with others
  • Explore
  • Exercise

It is my place of work, but it is on a one way in/out road that lots of people walk. I know multiple players from the other businesses and it gets frustrating that there are power spots on either side of us, but no stops/gyms etc. to hit on our lunch walks.

Power spots are mostly imported from another database that does not necessarily follow the Wayfarer standards. So I can understand the confusion and frustration.

There may be other local places you can nominate. Popular restaurants or Gyms near your place of work are more likely to be accepted.

Are there interesting features nearby such as a statue or decorative fountain? Those could also be eligible items.

Just being able to walk there doesn’t make it a great place for exercise, otherwise people would nominate every street and pathway.

I’d suggest checking out the suggestions here about what fits the categories of social/exploration/exercise.

I don’t see any nearby business that meet criteria, but this sign is cool as a work of art if it is still there. I would try that!

Ok. I appreciate everyone’s feedback. The amount of stops/gyms that don’t meet the criteria are comical but it is what it is. I will try for the artwork sign and see what happens.

Top tips for the artwork

Make sure you avoid licence plates as there are a lot of cars around

Try to have the object dominate the picture. Something like above proportions wise.
Remember when writing it that it is the object as art and not the business you are focussing on.
If you draft up text some people here will say if it needs tweaking to stand the best chance.
