My wife and I have been trying to get pokestops put up in our area. We have re-read the guidelines. We’ve changed the pictures added as much detail as possible and all 4 locations are getting rejected. They are in safe foot traffic areas, artsy or high traffic buisness areas. As well as on routes with other pokestops. Is it just me or does the review process seem like to much power in the wrong hands.?
Do you have any examples you can share? Also, to Appeal, navigate to the nomination in Wayfarer and you should see a button that says “Appeal”.
You can add in more information about why you think it meets the criteria and then submit. You’ll get an email to say you’ve done that and one when a decision has been made.
You get 2 appeals, each on a 20 day timer before you can use it agin that you access from your contributions page.
It will be grayed out if you don’t have one available currently.
Feel free to post the nominations you are planning to appeal in Nomination Support for fellow explorer feedback.
It’s a law office?
Can you let me know how that means criteria of a great place for exploration/exercise/being social with others?
It’s the last light before connecting to the trail. We have pokestops that are just open space. Literally nothing of I treat in the picture. It’s also along the route to get from the trail to our local public transportation. It has a unique name and is frequented as well as being safe. Is it locals deciding these poke stops or people who are not from the area. Plus the barber shop has multiple people who play pokemon go that attend it. As well as being a social meet up spot.
That doesn’t make it a great place for exploration/exercise/being social with others.
It can be both. You get a range of where you get submissions from and someone who knows the area can set their bonus location there.
I’m no expert on barber shops or the culture but I also don’t see one in this image?
I’m just going to stop here this is arbitrary and frustrating not fun. Seems to be based off of if the person voting is having a good day or not. Just Reddit 2.0
That’s fair enough if that’s how you feel. It can be good to add new Wayspots, you just have to understand the criteria and not nominate something and hope for the best.
If I saw this nomination in my queue, using my broad understanding of the requirements, I would be hard pressed to give it a positive vote unless there was some compelling reason to vote in favour of it.
I know @OldDirtyBard and @BlameJamal have discussed barber shop submissions, maybe they could help with some examples.
It might be a stretch, but clock towers are usually successful. The building next door to this office has one on the storefront you might be able to nominate. There’s also a lot of pools I see but those can be tricky.
I hope you take the opportunity to reconsider the process of nominating. I’m sure there’s a lot of opportunity and some community members love to scour areas to offer suggestions.
I know this is frustrating at first, but we would love to help you be successful. I searched on the law office to see what was there, and think the pools at these apartments would meet criteria on all three counts: a great place to be social, exercise, and explore. If you are allowed to enter that area, then these are likely candidates.
Hello. This might sound like a silly question, but can you tell us the “guidelines” as you understand them? Often getting a better understanding of the fundamentals is what helps the most to figure out Wayfarer.
Thank you for your response , this is very helpful
Hello and welcome,
It can feel daunting making a post, but it’s great that you are reaching out to try and get other views.
I’m going to move this to Nomination Support so tgat we can help more.
If you have some new ideas then do post them for some feedback if you would like.
Join the crowd it happened to me. I gave up trying.
