currently my town has no gyms and i would like to nominate my local library and park to become gyms, but they are already pokestops, would that affect the nominations in anyway?

Welcome to the forum. Existing Wayspots can not be nominated as gyms. The underlying mechanic lies within Pokemon GO, you would need to make entirely new Wayspots eligible for Pokemon GO to trigger a new gym

I am not the best at map searching (calling Mr @wooperIooper :slight_smile: ). It seems that this is a lovely place to live but not the best to play Pokemon Go. Nearest thing I see is the Church, this does have a Dynamax Powerspot so nominating it for Stop might remove the powerspot so it depends …
