Good evening. I was wondering on how I can reset my wayfarer rating as it became a poor score
Way back when there used to be a test to participate in Wayfarer, you could take another test for a one-time reset. You may have hit results for that if you saw a reset mentioned in a search. To my knowledge, there is no current way to reset your rating. Just review slowly and carefully, check the tool tips (the circled i symbols) in the review flow, and consider keeping the criteria pages pulled up when you review. https://niantic.helpshift.com/hc/en/21-wayfarer/section/166-wayspot-criteria/
I find the Criteria Clarification Collection section to be useful, too.
Hello @DabidSafavid
As @cyndiepooh has said there currently is no way to reset your Wayfarer rating. She has offered some solid advice, but if you have questions about specific things you are reviewing please feel free to ask. Often we have blind spots for certain things so examples and discussions can help.
Note that I have moved this to the General discussion area as this isn’t a bug or technical issue.
If you aren’t sure about something, skip it and move on to the next. Then come here and see if you can figure out what you should have done with the one you skipped. It’s also fine to skip entire categories of nominations and/or edits. I skip anything that has to do with amusement parks and splash parks as I’m autistic and I never go to them.
Oh, and I find many of the tools at wayfarer.tools invaluable when reviewing.
Hey @DabidSafavid,
Thanks for writing in.
There is no way to reset the profile stats or ratings at this time. However, you can improve it.
Wayfarer rating is based on the number of agreements and disagreements. Here are a few tips to help you review more effectively and maintain your performance rating:
- Follow the criteria while reviewing nominations, we recommend keeping the eligible and ineligible criteria pages open in a different browser tab for easy access.
- Take your time and review each segment on its own merit. Read this article for tips on how to review each section: Niantic Wayfarer
- Avoid using third party tools/plugins or depending on others to decide on how you vote on a nomination.
Regards,
If you’re new to reviewing…
It’s also been experienced by others that the wayfarer rating can be very volatile for newer reviewers, especially if doing a large number of reviews early on. The rating is roughly based on the number of agreements earned compared to the number of reviews you have done. This percentage will be low if doing a large number of reviews right away as a new reviewer.
If that fits what you may have done, then slow down on the reviews and give a chance for the reviews you did to resolve. Your rating may then climb on its own.
