I do not understand why I’m being told I’m repurposing a waypoint when the business has changed?

Please provide:

  • A screenshot of your nomination, including rejection reasons if it has already been rejected
  • Include the title, description, both photos, and supplemental information
  • Copy and paste the title, description and supplemental so others can translate them
  • If you feel comfortable please share the location, as it is helpful (i.e. hidden duplicates), but you can mask it if you wish.

As I stated on the appeal. The Wayspot used to be Buffalo Wild Wings. The building was tore down and rebuilt down the road. The waypoint still shows Buffalo Wild Wings when the building is now raising canes. What can I do differently to get this change accepted?

Ugh. This is an imported Power Spot, correct?

The repurposing thing is easier to understand in terms of Wayspots that went through the process of review and were approved. If something like that has been removed, it should be reported for removal. The new business would not be the same point of interest. If the new business is an eligible nomination, it can be submitted in a new nomination. I doubt that Raising Cane’s would qualify.

I believe that Niantic is trying to apply this same logic to the imports for Power Spots. I am not sure that they see any difference between Power Spots and Wayspots. So to them, submitting a photo of what is actually there is attempting to change the Wayspot. I believe it should be reported for removal, or location edited to where the Buffalo Wild Wings is now.
