I turned a photo and name update in for a way spot and it gets declined. I appeal it and they say it’s not correct and proceed to tell me that repurposing a ways pot is a violation of their policies. Yet the wayspot I’m trying to update has changed and they don’t even look into it… makes me not even want to be part of the community to make or add wayspots because of this lack of care from them…
Hello and welcome @89HazeX
Its not always clear where the best place to post a query is on the forum when you are new, so I shall move this to nomination support.
We need to know more about the wayspot in question so that we can help.
Could you post the detals about the wayspot - if you dont have those the location ( co ordinates are great) and what is called wil help us.
Can you also post your new picture and more details of the change.
I had a look into your contribution and can see that you tried to change the object connected to the Wayspot. That is considered repurposing and is not allowed. The correct course of action in this case would be to report this Wayspot for removal and then submit the new candidate.
Thank you
So you can’t make changes basically then?
Alright I’ll look into doing that instead. Thanks. Why can’t it just be that we can make changes instead of having to delete it and make a new one? This makes it so that the spot is gone and then who knows when/if it will come back even
With wayfarer many of the objects are agreed because of exactly what they are.
To explain a commercial building that was a bookshop with a cafe in it and organised book clubs and readings etc might have been a wayspot. It was approved because of what it was.
That goes out of business/moves to a new location and the same building now becomes a fitness studio. Yes its the same building but it wasnt the building that was approved it was the business, and that is now all about exercise. So that business needs to be assessed on its own merits.
There are more instances when the change is not so dramatic but that is the principle.
Out of curiosity why isn’t the resolution here just provided when it gets denied?
Why do we have to go through the process the appeal process then start a post to have someone relook at it to get clarification as to why it was denied?
Maybe the expectation is that people should know but you don’t have to look far to see people struggle to understand.
