I haven’t, no, but I regularly get 20-40 percent foreign language.
And for some reason I’m not seeing an “Aa” button on my Safari.

There will be a lot of people that live close to “Language Borders” that will speak both languages fluently. You suggestion is to stop these people from more reviews.
There are also the people that have confirmed that they are happy to use “Translate”, you are now stopping them.
Some foreign language nominations will be easy Accept / Rejects that doesn’t need to translate…
You also have the option to Skip
It seems that you are creating a problem where there isn’t one.
No, I don’t have any right now. However, I have recently gotten a couple of them one after another. Just thought I should bring it up.
That is not my “suggestion”, you cherry picked one phrase out of a three part sentence, ignored the rest, jumped to a conclusion, and then started arguing against yourself.
I never intended to say that the review availability should be changed. The entire sentence was leading toward the solution being EITHER integrating a translate function into Wayfarer, or discontinuing the penalizing / limiting of such players as may be in my situation for using skips.
You should not assume that my issue is that I am “unwilling” to use a translation function on my browser - I already stated I can’t find it, maybe my skills aren’t as good as you assume. And I shouldn’t be expected to cut and paste the text into a separate browser window.
Considering that I was put on cooldown earlier this week, yes, there is a problem if this is the reason.
There is no penalty for using skips as such they are provided for us to use as a valid action on the nomination we have to review.
We have not been told exactly what causes a cooldown it is all by community observation.
It is not implausible that completing a review quickly by skipping is assessed in the same way as completing it quickly by registering a sequence of votes.
While skip itself doesnt seems to have penalty, it might flagged you for review circle if you only accepting certain area nomination without regards while skipping all other.
I don’t think it is helpful to speculate in this way as there is no hint of malicious behaviour here.
My comment was in regards to your full comment, but didn’t feel the need to quote the whole post.
The majority of people do not have a problem with foreign language reviews either because…
As I have also stated I often use the Skip function enough to hit the 100 per 24 hour limit without any other issue.
This is why I stated “It seems that you are creating a problem where there isn’t one”.
That’s part of what I am worried about. I was hit with a 24-hour cooldown this past weekend and suspect (after seeing this thread) that my abundant skipping was at least part of the reason. (the actual reason given was so vague as to be useless).
The area involved is basically… if you draw a circle of whatever size Wayfarer thinks is local, then draw a straight line across that circle so that it passes 26 km from center (the border here is a straight line)… the area I usually skip is the smaller of the two resulting areas (not the one I live in), but it is also heavily populated.
Just got another cooldown… I’m not sure what could have caused it other than speed and/or language skipping (I only skipped one in English and that was because I couldn’t tell if the location was eligible). I’d done maybe 40-50 unskipped reviews today in two separate sessions, and out of those, had probably eight denials for ineligible locations or items that are not permanent/distinct (one mass produced advertisement and some graffitis), and added categories to some of the approves, so it’s not some sort of thoughtless approve everything pattern. Nor am I only doing locals… I saw out of state ones such as Louisiana, Delaware, Florida… which I completed.
I tend to do shorts bursts of 3-5ish (less than 10) at a time. I skip frequently and have never seemed to have an issue with that.
Additionally:
I rarely get cooldowns and only once had a 24 hour one. It’s not obvious what they trigger on but I believe taking some time to think about each step really helps (instead of speed running them).
It would be helpful if it actually said why. I have now had 2 24-hour cooldowns in eight days (after never having one before)… and I’m left to think it’s a result of speedreading and/or living too close to a border without being bilingual across that border.
I mean, what else could it be? I’m not leaving it open, my rating is “great”, my total agreements is above 70 percent (without even accounting for the fact that some are likely still unresolved)…. I’m not doing huge batches, etc….
The skipping does not know why you are doing so. And many wayfinders skip for various reasons.
It is most likely to do with speed so try and wait between each one you have for review, It might be frustrating but better than a cooldown
So, in other words: I’m being penalized for not reviewing the foreign language ones.
That’s the opposite of what was said.
Then explain what you think he meant because I apparently don’t see what you do.
She was explaining that you may want to take more time with each nomination you review.
And when I’m skipping about a quarter to a third because I cannot read the text, I’m supposed to what, count to a hundred before hitting skip?
Skipping has no impact
Just that the skipping as such is not the issue it is the peed at which you move on from one review to the next.
Yes you might decide quickly this is not a review you wish to do, or decide quickly it is a simple reject ( its a school reject) but you need to pause before moving to the next one. try counting to 30.
many people have reasons that they will want to skip. Europe you will get multiple languages.
