I need help making pokestops in our area

multiple people have tried to make this a pokestop. Its denied on multiple reasons one being not in that location probably because its not visible on Google maps. On the time that the Google car came by it wasn’t visible from the main road through the trees now in winter it is. Maybe wrong words are used in description. But the important thing is that its an popular place for kids to hang out, for generations. Its a nice place to sit and watch the sunset, kids play hide and seek there and grown-ups bring blankets and have picknick while kids play. Its nature, next to a dirt road, safe, accessible by foot. Why shouldn’t it be accepted as a pokestop? I’ve had multiple things accepted in the city like play areas churches etc even things not on Google maps. But in this area everything is being rejected within 24 hours of submission. The sajo agrar on the map is a petting zoo also rejected, mini free library, a nature club, old monumental house (founder of the town) a area with 7 or more decorated bird houses on the sidewalk, a traditional old water pump (well) but still in use also all rejected. A tree stump decorated to look like a small house next to sidewalk rejected reason temporary its been there for at least 2years. We used to have a active group of Pokémon players in this town and even went to the city for raid hour every week and meet up but 5 pokestops 1 max battle and 1 gym in total in an entire town makes a lot of the research tasks impossible to do.

Location is kolut Serbia

First i am not convinced that this is really place for kid to play. If this is not true, you might need better photo and /or more evidence

You might need gps tagged photo (gps shown as watermark) so reviewer can be more sure about this location or take photo which show nearby building that can be verified from satelite.

You can submit from web so you can attach 5 surrounding photo. Your surrounding photo doesnt show the object (its recommend to have the object)

Can you take screenshots of your entire submission, not just the appeal rejection? We need to see both photos, the original description and the original supplemental information you wrote. As TjoeMi indicated, this does not jump out to us as an obvious place to socialize. You will need to provide very good proof of this claim. The burden is always on the submitter to prove the submission meets Wayfarer criteria.

Welcome to the forums

This does not make something eligible to be a wayspot. A wayspot must meet core criteria - Exercise, Social, Exploration. It must also be safe and accessible by foot.

This ruin may meet exploration criteria. From the approval rejection, it seems you need to prove it exists where you say it is. The Web submission at Niantic Wayfarer allows up to 5 supporting photos, so use this to provide photos that prove the location, e.g., a series of photos from a streetview-matched location to reach the POI.

I got the screenshots of someone else who also tried to nominate via Pokémon. But its the same reason they can’t verify the location. I understand the notice that it doesn’t look appealing to play there. But you would be surprised where kids hangout and play in a town where the first playground is built 7years ago (and even that is for kindergarten kids) And in the summer when the temperature reaches 40° celcius its a nice place in the shade thanks to all the trees. The road goes downhill so in summer time they ride their bikes there and in winter time sleds. But how to prove that if i cant put pictures with kids on it. I’ve seen a lot of pokestops of graffiti or painted bricks/tiles for example how can that be more elegible than a historic ruin?

Um, how many people are we talking to?

Hey, Serbia has a lot of graffiti approved that is actually ineligible. You simply can not trust already accepted Wayspots to be always eligible versions (or eligible at all)

So, the description written in the submission you showed us would make this ineligible in my opinion. “not visible from the road in google maps because of the Trees. kids hangout place safe for pedestrians” should not be part of the description. That’s all information that belongs in the supplemental information.

What I expect is an explanation of what a bunker from World War II provides in terms of a place to explore. What is interesting about it? Can you explain why I would want to go look at this place? I don’t care if 300 kids are hanging out there, that doesn’t mean it is a place that meets the explore criteria. Kids hang out in weird places all the time.

Sorry i didn’t notice i posted under my son’s account i logged in on his account for one of the screenshots and forgot to switch back.

The mian photo cannot have people but supporting photos can.

The rejection was clearly being unable to confirm location. Address this with extra supporting photos.

I couldn’t understand how graffiti could be accepted because most of the graffiti is painted over after a short while. Thanks for letting me know

Yesterday i tried again this time with extra pictures of the surrounding area so you can really see it’s that location and i asked my senior neighbours to tell me something more about the ruin which i added in the explanation and still its rejected within 24 hours with only the reason it doesn’t meet wayfarer criteria. No further explanation. Can someone please see if i used wrong words or should i have written in Serbian? Or whats the list of criteria im obviously missing something. Its a place where people soscialise, it has Historical meaning, people are active there, its in a safe area no cars (its even safe to climb on it won’t fall apart) , enough space for big group of people, its not on private property. Is the title “bunker marka Oreškovića” offending maybe?
Its not just this nomination that’s bothering me but if i don’t understand how it works and when local businesses, free mini library and petting zoo are getting declined also (which i thought we’re ok criteria) i dont know what to try anymore to make it possible to play Pokémon in our town. i’m close to giving up on wayfarer and Pokémon even though I’d rather have my kids play outside and socialise via Pokémon than stay inside and play Xbox.

I will just add a couple of “In My Opinion”.

  • I would drop everything about how kids play around it. This is not a “Kids Play Ground”. Also drop the “Socialise” element. This is more hitting the “Explore” criteria, push that aspect.

  • It needs more evidence on its History. Stating what senior neighbours have said is not evidence. Is it mentioned on any History websites. Do maps label as “Bunker”. For me in the UK we have a system where Historic Structures are Listed (search “Historic England”), do you have anything similar and is this structure included?

IMO I would use the language that the “Local Reviewer” is going to understand the easiest.

Just going to add a personal story. A local woods has some ruined bunkers and craters. Growing up I was informed by loads of people that these where WWII bunkers, machine g-u-n locations and bomb craters. Much later in to my adult years I found out that after the war the area was quarried and it was all related to this. This is why you need evidence and not just what people say…

On the internet i could only find a few references to the big flood of 65 but nothing more i couldn’t find anything online about old ww2 bunkers either even though there are a lot of those in the area. I assume there could be something in books somewhere but Serbia is not that up to date online yet. Thanks for your advice, ive seen viewpoints as pokestops this might be one as well, its my favourite place to watch the sunset in the summertime but it’ll need a good picture i assume and the weather hasn’t been cooperating lately. Do you know what the criteria are for a little free library? There is one in the area but its not only books sometimes there is canned food, plants and seedlings in/on it. Its basically an old cupboard not fixated to anything so i expect it to be rejected because it looks like its temporary. Ive noticed that my nominations that have been accepted except for real playgrounds are things that have a plaque with description is that a must have criteria?

Again, these are just My Opinions…

Might be difficult. Most places can see sunset / sunrise. Just being your favourite probably won’t cut it. Otherwise everybody’s favourite would be somewhere they can interact with from their couch…

Not on or attached to Single Family Private Residence Properties (including the boundary wall fence etc) is the main one.

Wouldn’t be a problem, would say it’s an added benefit as it would be for more people.

This would be a big problem. If it looks like you could have lifted in to place, piled some stuff on it and taken the photos just to get a wayspot it would be rightly Rejected.

Is there a local who is handy with woodwork that could build 1.

Make sure it is situated on public land (park etc) and you have authority.

Not a “must have” but definitely will make it much easier.

For an example, if the “Bunker” had an official sign showing it’s history you would have not had to put much effort in and it would have been in easily.

Have you work on this? You may need gps tagged photo so that reviewer can have extra evidence that you didnt missplaced this nomination. Alternately pick surrounding foto which show building visible from satelite

You cant expect reviewer to approve your nomination if you didnt provide enough proof of location.
