Incompatibility of Discourse and Auto-Translation: Tapping a Link Does Not Cause Page Transition

iPhone13 Pro Max

Chrome 131.0.6778.154

Safari unknown

When using Chrome’s automatic Japanese translation:
When tapping on a menu, URL, or author icon, or on my profile tab, there is almost no page transition.

When using Safari’s Japanese translation:
When pressing the title of Related topics or the author icon displayed at the bottom of a thread, there is also no page transition sometimes.

I think that people who access the community forum for the first time will be frustrated by the page transition not happening and give up reading. I’m used to it, so I know that if I click on a link and nothing happens, I can press the browser’s refresh button to transition to the page. Even so, it’s inconvenient to have to press the refresh button every time.

I know that this is a minority opinion. But I really hope that Japanese Wayfarer beginners who are in trouble will make more use of the Wayfarer community forum. Would you please help me?

I uploaded the video to X (formerly Twitter) because I thought it would be faster for you to see it than to explain it in words. I think you can see that the link to the Discourse does not work from the Discourse. There is no problem transitioning from within the Discourse to the external site.

I wonder if your browser is blocking pop-ups? Could you please try in a different browser and see if the issue persists?

The second video has been uploaded. This is the Safari version. This video will switch from English to Japanese translation in the middle. The setting to restrict browser pop-ups is turned on. I tried to turn it off after shooting the video, but it is still as unstable as before changing the settings.

If it’s because of the browser’s pop-up settings, wouldn’t there be a problem that does not transition even in English?
