Also seems like Recon does not have old “Upgraded” info status in old nominations in contributions list.
Any ideas are these just leftovers from Wayfarer or are they planning to bring Upgrades back to Recon?
Personally I play only Ingress and have plenty of unused Upgrades in Wayfarer and like to have them moved to Recon if they are ever to support Upgrades.
Any ideas/rumours if there is a plan to give (Ingress) users a possibility to move unused Upgrades from Wayfarer to Recon?
Not sure if they would add Upgrades back, but on this.
You earned the Upgrades on Wayfarer which is now held by Scopely. It doesn’t make any business sense to go through the hassle of transferring them so I feel you should use them up on Wayfarer as I don’t see them being transferred to Spatial
I accessed the Ingress system after hearing that nominations had started, but was astonished by the closed nature of the system when I saw that the requirement was Agent Level 16. I had been wondering if I should prepare separate images for posting to Niantic and NianticSpatial, but it seems that was unnecessary.
I have. Lots of footpath markers (in the countryside, with photospheres) which were accepted on Wayfarer have been rejected on Recon. I have tested one via the appeal route.
This measure is the same as the original access level in OPR.
Currently, the most common player tier in Ingress is level 16 and above, including Recursion agents.
Therefore, most Ingress agents already have access to Recon, so it’s not a problem.

Then conversely, expressing dissatisfaction about not being able to access Recon is your opinion, right?
I’m simply stating the facts as they currently stand.
It’s a fact that the majority of agents actively playing Ingress right now are Level 16 or higher.
That’s the same as how the majority of trainers actively playing PoGo right now were TL40 or higher under the old standards.
And while the access level for Recon might be lowered someday, they say it’s “soon.”
Nobody knows.
So, if you actively play Ingress for a period and reach Lv.16, you’ll gain access sooner.
It’s just like when PoGo trainers who wanted to get pokestops live installed Ingress and played up to Lv.13 or Lv.12 back then.
If I were in that position, I’d definitely play hard until I hit Lv.16.
Also, if Wayfarer and Recon were reversed and I was an agent wanting early access to Wayfarer, I’d actively play PoGo just for that period.
(Fortunately, I have access to both, so I’m watching the differences between them with interest.)
I apologize if my previous comment caused any offense.
I was feeling a bit frustrated and let my emotions get the better of me because I was previously able to submit Portal nominations as an Agent Level 8, but was excluded from the new Recon system that just started. If the participation is going to be rolled out in phases, I am happy to wait.
When Recon was (re-)released, Niantic Spatial definitely said the level requirement will be lowered in due course. Although we don’t know when due course will be, Niantic are reliable with statements like this, so we have every reason to believe them.
Unfortunately, you only have two choices [in the game] - be patient or play Ingress like an insane person. For the latter, take advantage of 1S next Saturday which is an excellent time to x4 your AP with Apex.
[Edit: alternatively, make noise, as suggested by @RoIi112]
Locking out contributors that were previously able to contribute in large numbers and continue to wish to do so is a problem. I don’t have data to talk numbers like you used on what level the majority of players are, but im sure any data can be flipped to favor any narrative we want to argue. For example, what level did most contributions come from? Most reviews? Etc. As it stands the number one complaint I have heard, besides not being able to access due to level, is how slow it is to accrue agreements… which would surely be helped by allowing more reviewers access.
If people that want to help can’t help, then yes it’s a problem.
I disagree that there’s only two options, if people wait patiently and quietly than their patience may be mistaken for lack of interest and the issue not taken with any priority. If they make their dissatisfaction clear, then it might be prioritized.
