Invisible wayspots (on the map)

Hello there,

Just something I was wondering about really. There are several spots in the town where I live where, whenever you try to submit a new stop, it shows that there already is something there. Yet, whenever I look on the wayfarer map, there is no dot to be found, neither ‘in-game’ or ‘not in-game’. What does this mean really? I only play pokemon go, but since they aren’t on the map, I assume that those spots also don’t appear in other games?

Thank you.

Hi, there’s a mixture of two things happening that you see so many unused Wayspots:

-Pokémon GO has an additional check to decide whether to use it for the game.or not. It is based on S2 cells: https://pokemongohub.net/post/article/comprehensive-guide-s2-cells-pokemon-go/

-Niantic had imported a bunch of Wayspots through external databases for Powerspots. These often don’t fulfill the Wayfarer criteria.

If you find something that does fulfill the criteria, and it only is an import, you can.go and submit it.

Is it possible to share general coordinate of the area? (Not your home)
