Welcome to the forum @jonsnow1975uj it would help staff a lot if you can provide a picture of the current status.

I mean a current picture of the location, sorry if that was unclear

I cannot find a public footpath here. It would help a lot if you could provide a streetview link.

I will walk over later to take a new photo of the bushes covering the Footpath Marker

There is no PROW here (public footpath). There is only a small gennel/alley/cut-through/access path. I have checked both rowmaps and OSM. Do you have any evidence to support the existence of this marker?

Yes. I will walk over and take a photo

Hey @jonsnow1975uj ,

Thanks for bringing this location to our attention.

I see systematic abuse at this location through multi-accountig and review circles. We have launched an investigation into this abuse.

As for this Wayspot, this is a fake Wayspot and we stand by our decision to retire it.

Best,

This was taken in April 2026 clearly showing the Public Footpath Sign and another just now showing the bushes have overgrown and covered the sign

Streetview all the way from 2009 to 2023 (9 separate google passes) show this PROW marker as not existing (and the ivy never previously covered this brick).

Do you have any evidence that there is a PROW here, beyond your image.

The Public Footpath Sign was only put up in April 2026.

If you want evidence then feel free to walk there yourself to take a look

I don’t need to get this wayspot reinstated as I don’t live near to it. I am describing the problems I see and suggesting what you would need to get reinstatement. Niantic have already said this is a fake, so you need solid evidence.

Even if this is a legitimate sign (it’s a very weird placement for it, I’ve never seen my local authority use a brick wall for one of these signs), it appears to be attached to the outward facing part of the property boundary for number 23, which would technically make it ineligible for being on single family private residential property regardless of whether it’s legitimate or not.

You have had a response from Aaron.
Regular U.K. reviewers and forum users are familiar with this location for repeated attempts at fake nominations, especially around footpath signage.

And this seems to be the same entrance but under a different fake marker

I do wish that a lesson had been learned and the behaviour changed.
I don’t think anymore needs to be said.
