So one of my local game/card stores that hosts TCG and GO Play! Pokémon Challenges and Cups does not have a pokestop. I tried nominated them but it turns out that they have a stop but its too close to the BINGO Hall pokestop which is out of place.
I tried moving the BINGO Hall multiple times and have been denied so much that I dont think it will go through, but the store also does not have a stop being a Play! Pokémon store. What does the owner need to do in order to get a Play! Pokémon stop in game? This is Unbound Games located in Colorado Springs, CO (new address: 3440 N Carefree Cir #160, Colorado Springs, CO 80917; they were located at suite 190 before buy moved down a couple doors due to needing a larger area to play).
Looking at (the now out of date, but best we have) Intel maps the Bingo Hall seems to be in the correct location.
Changing the location for game reasons is classed as Abuse and could lead to warnings / suspension of all your accounts (Wayfarer and games).
Unfortunately, it works on a first come basis.
Your nomination may…
- become a Powerspot (Dynamax / Gigantamax) depending on its proximity to other waypoints.
- replace the existing waypoint if that is removed for legitimate reasons. ***
- be used in other Scopely games.
***Do Not attempt to get a legitimate wayspot removed just to get yours on to the map. This is seen as Abuse and can lead to suspension / bans of all accounts (Wayfarer, Pokemon Go and any other Scopely games).
Sponsored stops have nothing to do with Wayfarer. The business will need to reach out to Pokemon GO or Play! Pokemon to get a stop set up. I can’t find a link to point you to.
The pin for the Bingo hall looks spot on accurate. The entire building which google labels indicates the game shop is in is all in the same L17 S2 cell. There is no place that you could accurately pin the Bingo hall and force a pin for the game shop to show up anyway. Will reiterate: do not do location edits for game manipulation, as this is considered abuse.
So the BINGO Hall entrance has moved and I’ve been trying to get the stop moved to the entrance. I’ve attached the photo for context below.
Basically the Red X is the entrance now not the side door. They had too many vandalism issues involving that side of the building and have made it an emergency exit and not an entrance.
Also, the blue marks are where Unbound Games was and now is. The blue X was the previous spot and the blue circle is where it is now. I believe in the photo it would be out of the secondary radius of the BINGO Hall pokestop right? Or am I mistaken? Is it possible to move the Unbound Games pokestop (which is in the Wayfairer map but not in Pokémon GO) to the correct location which is on the Western (bottom left side) of the building?
Honestly, none of this matters. PLAY pokestops are essentially sponsored, I think. The owner of the store is not involved. I believe it is the Professor who runs the tournaments that is supposed to request the stop. They had a method of requesting stops back when PGO was added to the PLAY system. I don’t know who maintains that now.
The bingo hall would still be in the same cell even if it was moved, so Unbound Games would still not appear if it was a regular wayspot.
If it was a sponsored Pokéstop it would be able to appear regardless of other Pokéstops or Gyms in the cell, but wayfarer doesn’t deal with sponsored Pokéstops as they’re not actual wayspots. I am aware that Play! Pokémon does have a sponsorship deal with Niantic, but only the store owner can really liaise with their contacts at Play! Pokémon and see what the requirements would be for getting added to the sponsorship deal. It’s not something we can really help with here.
