Pokestop not showing

I put a pokestop at Latitude: 51.442324 | Longitude: -0.37883 which is in an S2 cell with no other pokestops, gyms or power spots and nothing from any other niantic games but it’s not appeared in pokemon go. Is there a way to appeal it not being included in game when it meets all criteria to be included?

Welcome to the forums

Grove Playground has been approved slightly to the east of this location, and is blocked by several other wayspots.

It will not be possible to move it now, even though the submission location looks valid to me as it is near the entrance to the playground.

Hello and Welcome @NikS141

Unfortunately it is showing on the map at a slightly different location

51.442373,-0.378784

This means that it shares a cell with other wayspots and won’t be a pokestop/gym but may be a Powerspot.
If the location you gave me is the one on the thanks for submitting email then it has probably been moved during review.
It is unlikely that there is anything you can do about this as it is in the play area so it is a correct location.

Thank you both for your help. I have submitted my co-ordinates again to wayfarer support to see if they’ll shift it across. They probably won’t but it’s worth a try

Wayspots can be moved when the location is inaccurate. So for a playground, this would be if the wayspot is not located anywhere on the playground or the boundary of it.

Wayspots can also be moved if they are in a less-than-ideal position. For example, a football field with the wayspot in the middle of the field is not ideal; on the edge is better.

In those situations, Niantic won’t necessarily move it to the location suggested.

For a playground, all locations are equally valid, so moving it won’t be possible and might be seen as abusive (trying to move something solely for games purposes as opposed to improving the wayfarer database).

Even if niantic decide to move it, niantic have his/her own judgement on where it should be (not necesarily following your suggestion)

I have asked for a relocation from off the equipment to the entrance once, and they did do that move. I hate that reviewers moved your pin. Your placement at the gate is where I would have pinned.

Guidance on this is here: https://wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/new/help/location-guidelines

  • Place the pin along the edge or entrance of large objects such as buildings and sports fields. Placement should ideally be at the natural point of approach, such as a gate or door.

Placemarkers for Large Areas

Larger areas like dog parks or sport fields make great Wayspots, but it is important to choose the right placement of the Wayspot that respects the activity it was designed to support. Instead of placing the Wayspot in the center of an open field, park, or other large area, place it at the entrance or where there is a visible sign or placemarker. That encourages you to approach the area to visit the Wayspot, without having to enter or interfere with the activities within.

But reviewers still love to move the pins to the equipment :woman_facepalming:

I hope you did not mention anything about cells when you made your edit request, since those do not matter for correct real world placement, and simply pointed out the guidelines that the gate is the preferred location for a large area pin.

Thank you. I originally just said the equipment is too far into the park and it would be better near the path but this information is even better to give them

For me if the play area is clearly defined then I try to pin on the entrance. My logic is that everything in that defined area is the equivalent of the field of play on a football pitch. In other words to avoid interfering with play. My kids would run around from one piece of equipment to the next - you didn’t want to get in the way :joy:.
That’s my logic.

If they do not consider this one gated play area and leave the pin at the current position, then I would try to submit the swingset as a separate defined play area.

It is clearly on its own pad, is separated from the other equipment with a sidewalk, and is bordered by benches on that side of the sidewalk.

That’s a great idea, thank you
