When reviewing nominations, I almost always use the satellite to check the location for accuracy. A lot of times, I come across a nomination that shows a fully erected building or the like, nearby trees and pavement and such, but the satellite data just shows a large plot of dirt. Should I mark these with an “I don’t know” for accuracy? I’m new to wayfarer, so I’m still trying to learn the ropes of what makes a quality nomination.
Satellite view is a useful tool for confirming accuracy if it’s up to date. It’s not the only tool though. Street view can also help and is sometimes more up to date than satellite view. Sometimes both won’t be great, but the supporting images and text can help verify the location exists. Sometimes a different map provider has up to date imagery instead.
The submitter should always try to make the job as easy for the reviewer as possible. If what you have in front of you is still not enough information, then it is perfectly fine to select “I don’t know”.
