They deleted their post, but essentially they said they reject any art that isn’t 100% accurately titled and credited.
That explains why I couldn’t get anything when I clicked that name
But I would agree with you here. It’s a good idea to put extra effort and add such info if you can find it (I personally don’t always add artist’s name even if it’s there - and now I will remember to add it ), but you can’t always find that info. Sometimes even if artist’s name is there, art’s name is nowhere to be found. Omitting some information doesn’t make other information inaccurate. Less informative - maybe, but definitely not inaccurate.
Bah.
I’ve been trying to add Artist/Date info to existing wayspots, and the edits have been getting rejected.
Tried fixing two spelling mistakes and removing a superfluous word. Rejected after more than a year
I’m surprised that the ML isn’t able to weed out something that says private property.
But not all Private Property is bad. Community items such as a pool are acceptable (width relevant support and photo). It is Single Family Private Residential Property (SFPRP) that is ineligible.
Of course, but a sign that says ‘private property’ isn’t exactly an invitation, especially in Britain and the US.
That’s the same one I got Although I rejected it, cause a gate is not a pool
For Niantic’s purposes, “private property” refers to “single family residence”. So while the sign says “Private Property” and all other things, because it’s a community pool, it’s technically allowed. But the submitter most likely doesn’t live in that community and doesn’t have access to the pool, hence photos of the gate and thru the fence
I’d rather not trespass on private property in the US, the stakes seem higher than here in Norway.
Obviously you shouldn’t be trespassing! Not all wayspots need to be accessible by all players. All Niantic games come with the warning not to trespass.
And you absolutely shouldn’t, that’s right. But unfortunately Niantic allows wayspots on private property not open to the general public (their definition of “the public” is “at least one person” ). The only private property where wayspots are not allowed is single family residence (single family house). Apartment building or a gated community? Nominate all you want.
Obviously, but with the game mechanics of PoGo you could see an Unown just beyond the gate giving you a strong incitement to trespass.
This was my concern when I just started playing Ingress. When I raised it, I was told I should make friends with people who have access to such POIs. I am still trying to figure out how to befriend someone who works at this metropolitan water district location so that I can get access to this water tower:
I am still torn between hanging out by the locked gates in hopes someone notices me and researching who works there so that I can stalk them
This is a photo I have queued up:
Ok, not really. But I did use it as evidence of a name change, and will likely use it as justification for a move under the “place it at the entrance or where there is a visible sign” guideline.
Meanwhile in the UK… The land of the free…
“Sure I can walk over your farm, look I’ll show you the 54 Public Right Of Way Pokestops on it.”
I think the gate for the pool is the perfect place to pin it per Niantic Wayfarer
Instead of placing the Wayspot in the center of an open field, park, or other large area, place it at the entrance or where there is a visible sign or placemarker.
It may not be a beautiful sign, but it is a recognizable anchor for the wayspot to know you have arrived when you get there.
That gate that @nexushoratio had to review at least shows that it’s for the pool. The gate you and I had to review doesn’t say anything about the pool.
