My Cafe don’t get approved

This is one of the little Cafe of mine.
It is permanent. The “To go” doesn’t mean the Cafe goes away but that this branch is focused on Coffees “to go” (take out branch).

I checked all Wayfarer rules and it confirms a Coffee Shop is legit.

Just the 2 Huge Coffee Cup Statues are in my opinion more fair to get approved then most I see in my neighbourhood.

What should I do? Accept the decline? I don’t want to hurt my rating further by re-submitting the same submission.

Welcome to the forum!

Instead of thinking in terms of coffee shops can be accepted, try to think in terms of whether the nomination meets any of the criteria of a great place for exercise, exploration, or being social.

A coffee shop is normally a wonderful place for sitting down with friends and being social, but I don’t see that in a to go shop.

The coffee cup statues aren’t really art to me. This clarification addresses corporate art:

Is this a truly unique place that would meet the exploration criteria? Can you prove that, not just say that it is?

I hope this helps.

Hello and welcome,

I’m not finding much info on this place online, so knowing the location would be helpful, as well as the supporting info and photo.

One issue I do see in the description is the use of GO, as this could be seen as using a game term and possibly trying to influence reviewers. If it’s just Go, that’s not going to be an issue, but using GO in all cap could be seen as influencing reviewers, which isn’t allowed.

if the rejection reason is still not showing up for you on the contributions page, try logging out of wayfarer and back in.

This has nothing to do with the nomination in question, but Cyndie did provide info on business signage. I know this isn’t what you nominated, but you mentioned that the two coffee cups, which actually look like larger coolers to me, are more interesting, but the shop as a whole is of more interest than than signage here.

I agree with Cyndie… coffee shops are usually accepted when they are great places to socialize… and ToGo stand doesnt fit that criteria.

Although take away places are not generally good for socialising am I correct in noticing some tables and chairs there too.?

So although you consider the best approach is to say it’s a place you get coffee and leave is it also a place you sit down too?

I agree, as the only info I could find online was for the former location of Smooth Cafe, which was right on a beach, and had seating nearby. However, that location closed earlier this year, and I couldn’t find any info about the new location, which the former location said would open around May 2025.

This is why I’d like to see the full nomination, especially the location, to try and locate this shop.

Well “to go” is big red flag for rejection to me. You might want to reconsider changing description. But if i can give advise, dont get fixated on how to make this a pokestop. Keep the fact straight. You can try nominating and appeal if it got rejected but if it is getting rejection, move on.

“To Go” I don’t think would be a red flag. It all depends on the context provided in the nomination. Again, another reason as to why seeing the full nomination would be helpful.

There’s a drive-thru coffee shop in my area that has a Wayspot. People can also walk up to it and order a drink. It’s locally owned, not a chain, and may be worth exploring.

Take out the “2 go”, it’s not on any of the official signage so you’re just going to confuse people.

The supporting photo should include the seating on the right so reviewers will know it’s not just a kiosk and it’s closer to a typical cafe.

Popularity is a metric Niantic uses to consider a foodstuffs establishment as “great” and instructs using reviews. So include those in your supporting information.

Well I am the owner of Smooth Cafe that’s why I know it :D. Including the branch you mentioned which closed earlier this year and which I reopen in 2 weeks.

The Smooth2Go are little branches good for take outs but also a group of 5-10 people to socialise and sit down having a coffee.

Thank you everyone for your input. I guess I can do better next time with more clear details.
