My pokemon spot cant be appealed. Why?

I just nominated my Pokémon spit in Granville TN for “Independence Hall”. It was declined for being on private property and for being fake. I am so annoyed as it is what I say it is. It was a private home but was purchased and being renovated right now to become Independence Hall, a museum.

There is no way on my account to appeal this. Help.

You can appeal this via your Contribution Management page (Niantic Wayfarer)

Find the rejected nomination, and there will be an Appeal button (unless you’ve already used both your appeals, in which case you may need to wait up to 15 days to get a new appeal).

When appealing, you can include further information for Niantic in your appeal to address these rejection reasons.

Welcome to the forum!

For something that’s currently being renovated, waiting until it’s complete may be helpful in nominating it. Official signage and things help with getting ‘this used to be a home and is now a museum’ type locations throught.

Something to note, though: you’re nominating a Wayspot, not a Pokestop, when you nominate with Wayfarer. Even if it’s approved you may not be guaranteed a new Pokestop at that location.

I was doing some research to try to help you find a convincing argument. If the site of the current museum is the site of the Independence Hall then it is already a Wayspot.

So no need to waste an appeal on this anyway if this is correct. If this is not correct, you can leave the location and we can see what else is on the map that does not show in Pokemon Go.

Thanks. The Museum you found is across the street.

okay “across the street” probably means that it is still in one of those grids that already has something in it. if you have the original submission acknowledgement email, it will have the exact coordinates where you submitted it, so I can give you a more accurate picture. the coordinates will be below the supporting photo(s).

Is this the correct number?

The coordinates you gave are for the correct location. I can imagine that reviewers would have seen this on streetview and thought it was a private residence. The independence hall is also not marked on Google Maps.

If you lodge an appeal via the Wayfarer website, or if you resubmit, you could provide in the supporting statement a third-party source to verify it is now an Independence Hall, e.g. https://www.instagram.com/p/DOCKr-tgTih/

I am very confused. @Tntnnbltn is much better with map stuff than I am. It looks to me like the building at the pin at the coordinates you gave is already a Wayspot. The red top of the pin is almost covering the disc, but you can see it behind it.

If this isn’t a Pokestop or gym, then the other Wayspot in that cell should be. Is this a Pokestop or gym? (Edited to zoom in closer.)

Clemmons car museum is. The Church is not. I’ll have more evidence in February when it opens. I think I said it was under renovation in my script.

Thanks,

Charlotte
