My Pokestop was approved about 10 days ago, but I don’t see it in Pokemon Go

I have a confirmation email saying my Pokestop was accepted, but that it could take to up 48 hours to appear in game. At this time, it’s been about 10 days, and I still don’t see it.

Is there somewhere I should report it is missing, or what should I do?

Welcome into the Wayforum!

Some of your emails should have the text “Remember that not all accepted nominations will appear in all Niantic games” which likely falls under this situation. Pokémon GO uses filter to prevent too many PokéStops and Gyms/Arenas from appearing too closely to each other.

If you’re comfortable sharing the location, somebody on here could try and see if that’s the case.

location is FRM8+Q25

The gcode doesn’t appear to be working. Do you have the GPS coordinates from your first email?

Hey,

Thank you for submitting a Wayspot nomination! While some nominations may be deemed eligible by the community of reviewers on Niantic Wayfarer for inclusion into Niantic’s location database, they may not necessarily be added into every Niantic game. After a nomination is approved by reviewers, there is an additional automated review that determines whether the nomination is an appropriate fit for each particular Niantic game. Each game has their own set of criteria for this step, so some nominations may be accepted into one game but not another.

The most common reason that an eligible nomination is not added to Pokémon GO is because the nomination is too close to existing PokéStops or Gyms. If an existing game location is removed or the criteria changes, the nomination may appear within Pokémon GO at a later time.

Please keep in mind that while this is a common reason, it is not the only one.

Best,

Your nomination appear to be in the same cell with this wayspot Ferry Park’s Fish Fountain or Mother Mary

If you see either of it as pokestop, it will prevent your submission to become pokestop(only 1 pokestop/gym per cell)

Aaron doesn’t mention S2 cells in his reply. I assume that is a contractual thing for staff?

I have this written up for when I see a wheresmypokestop question:

I know the prompt tells you that you are submitting a “Pokestop” but you are actually submitting a Wayspot to the database. The Wayspot can only become a Pokestop or gym if it is alone in a level 17 S2 cell. (The S2 cell use has not been officially confirmed to my knowledge, but staff has acknowledged there is an additional step.) This is a good article about S2 cells and how they have been observed to be used in PoGo: https://pokemongohub.net/post/article/comprehensive-guide-s2-cells-pokemon-go/

(Eligible Wayspots are added to Pokemon Go in a sync that happens once a day normally. If it has not been more than 48 hours since it was accepted, it could just be that it has not synced in yet.)

Wayspots that are not eligible to be Pokestops or gyms still have the potential to be used as Power Spots. It appears that there is a 22m distance requirement from any Pokestop or gym for it to be used this way, and it seems there is a limit of two active Power Spots per L14 S2 cell, the same size used to determine gyms. We explorers haven’t figured out the schedule for syncing in new Power Spots, but it is not on a daily basis at this time.

Your nomination may…

  • become a Powerspot (Dynamax / Gigantamax) depending on its proximity to other waypoints.
  • replace the existing waypoint if that is removed for legitimate reasons. ***
  • be used in other Scopely games.

***Do Not attempt to get a legitimate wayspot removed just to get yours on to the map. This is seen as Abuse and can lead to suspension / bans of all accounts (Wayfarer, Pokemon Go and any other Scopely games.
