New Wayfinder Rating -Discussion

Personally I would prefer that the ML remains Reject Only.

Everybody is aware that the ML System makes mistakes but…

  • Incorrect Rejections can be appealed or re-submitted.
  • Incorrect Accepts are on the map, someone that isn’t a “more stops = better” type of wayfinder needs to find it, report it and hope its removed.

Also the current system allows reviewers to have some good locations to view, if all we got was poor 1s then people may get bored and not bother.

It also restricts newer reviewers how many “review points” they can accrue.

I am sure that staff are keeping an eye on the amount of nominations in the queue and if they thought it was getting out of hand they would make changes, as they haven’t I assume they believe the current queue is manageable.

Just opinions so I am not saying either of us are right or wrong.

I’d love to see something kind of in the middle. Let eMiLy review, give a score to accept or reject. Than wayfinders review agisnt eMiLy’s score. This would allow for human involvement in making sure the location is correct, and also could teach eMiLy how to more effectively spot fakes and reject those in the grey area. It would boost good nominations to get approved faster.

Are you joking?! I have done Wayfarer since 2019, and I’ve submitted between 200-300. I do not travel regularly, so there simply isn’t much opportunity to submit huge volumes.

People can make good Wayfarers simply by learning the criteria and looking out for cool stuff. Volume isn’t really a factor (although obviously some experience helps a lot too)

In some areas submitting anywhere close to these volumes is simply impossible too ie a very well established town or city may have less to add, and a rural location may have nothing much available.
