New wayspot «Street corner »

Today in my town (Fondettes in France), around 10 new pokestops arose. They all named «Steet corner (+names of the streets). No image.
Do you know if it’s a bug ? Do you have any information on this subject ?

Hi @Melicetriolec,

Thanks for bringing this up! You’re seeing Wayspots at some street corners and bus stops in you town :france: because we’re conducting a limited experiment in select areas within Italy, France, and Spain. We conduct experiments like this from time to time to further enrich the gameplay experience for users.

Hope this helps

Please re-instate my nominations & overturn the ones which were incorrectly rejected. They’re better than these.

I support the street corner endeavour, there are famous crossing all over the world.

Is there any indication that these are being done outside of the Wayfarer criteria, or is this a test run of a criteria update?

I’m afraid I’m going to start seeing dozens of street signs in my reviews…

Cool story. There are millions of street signs that don’t meet either.

Fantastic work, I applaud your ability to demonstrate how these street signs can fit within Niantic’s core pillars. Your examples are worth taking note for future endeavors.

oh no, we still have unsubmitted maple leaf mailbox murals and bus stop transit maps, these should be submitted first before the cells are occupied by street signs!

Definitely! I’ve advocated for artistically decorated postboxes previously since they meet eligibility criteria thanks to both socialization and art exploration.

The Mulder x Scully intersection in Orlėans is locally famous, some players actually tried to submit it, but could not convince reviewers. One day, it will be a wayspot..

Looks like a place I’d get some exercise to explore :eyes:

This is just an experiment to enhance gameplay. I don’t think there has been any change to Wayfarer criteria. We should continue to reject street signs unless categorically instructed otherwise.

This is pretty exciting for areas where its hard to get anything meeting the usual 3 criteria!

Bus stops are a brilliant idea in my opinion, they are accessible in suburban and rural areas and are designed for people to be able to walk there and stand for a while safely. They also help people to travel so they can socialise and explore - similar to train stations just on a smaller scale.

I know that in the past they have been thought to not meet criteria strongly enough to be accepted, but I do think that these are a much better addition to the game than the imported power spots at people’s houses so I think this is awesome news

Hi all
I’ve separated a part of the discussion into a new thread:

So we can keep this one somehow readable.

9 “street corner” pokestops appeared in a L14 cell near my work, I find this quantity exagerated (but at least one of my collegues as a home gym now :upside_down_face:)

I want to see this being a PoI :joy: how cool!
