Change in frequency of Contribution Appeals

Hello Explorers, We have some exciting news regarding the Wayfarer Contribution Appeals process! After careful consideration and listening to your valuable feedback, we have decided to increase the frequency at which you can submit appeals. Effective immediately, you will now be able to submit 2 appeals every 15 days, rather than the previous 2 appeals every 20 days. The “Appeal” button will appear on a rejected submission that you haven’t already appealed when you have one available.

If the appeal is rejected and you still believe it is a valid nomination, you can make a new submission for it. Often the appeal statement will even suggest this. I recommend asking for advice in Nomination Support before resubmitting.

There is no pathway to appealing an appeal decision, but Niantic has said that they want to know when they get it wrong. If the appeal rejection reasons do not make sense and are clearly wrong, you should ask about that as well. Here is the AMA post I am referencing:

Niantic Appeal Decisions

Thank you for your continued feedback and examples of instances where we didn’t quite hit the mark with your appeals. We know we’re not perfect and our team members working on appeals may have different views however that is not an excuse to not improve based on the feedback. We are in the process of updating our staff training on criteria, removals, etc in hopes to improve the community sentiment around more than just appeals. Please continue to share your feedback on your experiences as we continue improving our performance and hope to reach a good state soon.
