Is there an option to look at what is being nominated near me? I am unable to find that.
No. There is an external planner tool if you want to work together with a group but nothing that shows you what people have already submitted that hasn’t been decided yet. However, in the Pokemon Go nomination map screen there is a toggle you can turn on to see what is already in game. It only works while you are at that location and looks something like this:

It reads as though it’s about avoiding submitting something someone else already has submitted but I’m not sure if it’s something different.
It can be a bit frustrating submitting something only to find someone else already has and yours ends up as a duplicate. If that’s what happens your picture gets added to the wayspot.
