Nominations submission questions/help

Ik you all explained how this nomination has low chance of being accepted. I learned from that.
But after like 4-5 days of being in the “iin voting” process, this was rejected by AI? If it was to be declined by AI, it could have been asap? Why it took 4 days in “iin voting” before being declined by AI?

It also didn’t provide me a reason for which criteria it didn’t obliged to? Like which rule it didn’t follow to be rejected?

I have seen at least one other report today of the “automated process” rejection for something that was already in voting. Perhaps it is working again, and is picking up recent submissions that it missed. I don’t have any more to add about what may have triggered the ML rejection than what was previously discussed.

The ML system has been having problems recently. Some people have noticed that it has picked up and rejected proposals that were already in voting, so it appears the ML system is working through submissions that were missed originally. This is why it took 4 days to get declined by the ML system.

Unfortunately you don’t get this with ML rejections. It could be a problem with the photo(s), with the narrative, with the location, with the type of object being submitted. Based on the feedback you received previously, you will probably have to work out yourself what the main issue was with this submission.

This is somewhat frustrating. In the past, staff was willing to admit (after a lot of pressure) that this lead to lack of agreements with community voting.

Ok thank you for the info. Just a quick question, can there be a powerspot and a pokestop in the same small s2 cell?

Yes. One of each. The powerspot needs to be a wayspot that is at least 22m from the nearest active pokestop/gym - this is from observation and is not official.

What if there is already a powersot and i sumit a nomination. But if the distance is less than 22 can that nomination become a pokestop? And how can I even calculate if the distance is 22 m or not? Like there are pretty near ((the spot I choose) so I want to calculate the distance to know if it’s possible to submit

If the powerspot is alone in the L17 cell, then it likely is an import that is not eligible to be used as a pokestop. It will have no effect on a Wayspot becoming a Pokestop or gym.

You can read this topic for more information about those imported powerspots:

I didn’t understand what do you mean by “if it is alone” and is level 17 cell same as s2 cell?

Please see this article about S2 cells. They come in different sizes: https://pokemongohub.net/post/article/comprehensive-guide-s2-cells-pokemon-go/

(L17 or level 17 is the smaller cell we talk about with Pokemon Go.)

Oh so there are 2 types of s2 cell level 12 is larger one and level 17 is the smaller one? I though that we call the smaller one as s2 cell

Here you can check what I mean

So I wanted to know if there is no pokestop but a powerspot in a level 17 the smaller cell, can a new submission likely become a pokestop if the criteria are met

I sometimes confuse of weather the pokestop is in this cell or that as when they lie on border line, is there anything I can do about it so that I can look for someone that can become a submission for the cell that’s empty

When you tap on the ! for the powerspot, does it look similar to this one with a placeholder picture and no description?

Then it is most likely an import that is not eligible to become a Pokestop. Those will not prevent something else submitted from becoming a Pokestop.

I am not able to confirm that this is the case from the screenshots you have posted. Those ! could represent either kind of wayspot, imported or reviewed. I will let someone else try to help who is better at the visual comparison.

A Powerspot that looks like this is likely to be one that has been submitted and reviewed, and would block a Pokestop:

But not necessarily, since people can edit the imports to add photos and descriptions. I wish they had been locked from being edited.

Powerspots do not affect pokestops. If a cell has an imported powerspot and nothing else, an accepted wayspot in that cell will become a pokestop.

To gauge distances, you can use Google maps.

Please note that objects at a specific location, such as plaques, scupltures, noticeboards, have to go at that location regardless of cells and distance. Placing them elsewhere is abuse.

Cells and distance are useful only when you have things with multiple eligible locations - playgrounds, churches etc.

The highlighted one don’t have a picture or discription. However I don’t have anything to submit there, the thing I want to submit is around some of the power spots

I think the orange markers are imported powerspots, which come without photos (and it is best they remain without photos, since they don’t interfere with wayspots).

The blue ones are wayspots which have been accepted. Some of these will be pokestops, some will be powerspots, some will be unused.

Yes rest of those 2 all the exclamation are powerspots with picture, so they won’t interface in the pokestop nomination?
All the blue one are pokestops/gyms and not any of them is pokwerspot

Imported powerspots do not interfere with wayspots (pokestops/gyms).

Imported powerspots are the orange circles. They initially don’t have photos, but some people have innocently added photos to some of them, not realising the problem this creates for nominations - when powerspots have photos, it makes it harder to tell people how to tell the difference
