Not a school

So i got this rehected for k-12, as it has an early learning center in it, but it is also a community center, it js for the community. So i appealed it, and they have said its on a school, it is not a school, it is a community center. If we are sayjng just cause theres somwthjgn attached thats aimed at children, then we may as well remove every play park, as they are aimed at children, every gym or dance studio etc that has childrens classes etc etc

Rejection criteria trump eligibility criteria every time. So, if there is an early learning center inside a community center, it’s a valid rejection.

An early learnjng center isnt a school, its just nursery really. And ill reiterate if thats the case that kids have something one time at it then play parks should be rejected, as they are for kids, dance studios thatbhave kids only classes should be rejected, gyms and pools that have kids only classes should be rejected etc

They are, as per Niantic. Schools have been defined as Pre-K to 12 th.

But it isnt, even by their standards, its essentially day care, its not a school, and i will reiterate, if we are teyj g to say a community centet thats used daily as a communiry center cant be accepted because a childs thing is at it, then EVERYTHING that has somwthjg aimed at children should be removed, how can a play park be acceptbale whrn its aimed at kids?

Day cares are part of rejection criteria.

Hi Gazza,
It covers any place where under 18s are left.
So the question is is the child area something that is a substantial a small element in terms of usage of the centre, or even do they use a specific entrance?

Please note that this section begins with the words: “Location is a…”
This language is used because we are not meant to reject a qualified public building due to its possession of a safety shelter, for example.

If a Community Center has a preschool or daycare in one corner the center as a whole can still be a valid Wayspot.

Wow I did not realize it was still stated differently different places. The clarification adds the word “primarily” which is key imo:

The highlight of the word “primarily” is mine. To me this means that a community center that has a primary learning center should be eligible, but the primary learning center itself should not be.

What evidence did you give that there is separation of the facilities?

This location is also a day care. Unless the day care has a completely separate entrance is cordoned off from the community center, this nomination will be rejected by Niantic. This is my view from the examples I have seen so far on the community and elsewhere.

I believe that ‘primarily’ applies for locations that also serve other age groups.

Technically none as i didnt think it would need it, from what i can see from thenoutside the daybcare is on the right hand, in one corner, the ledt and back are the community center

Oh, and when looking in, the daybcare has its own door on the inside, so its not like a hall where one area just happens to be early learningz its a room to itself

Define specific entrance, the buolding itself has one entrance, but inside the early learning part has a door to it, so its own room essentially

So, from how i could see, it was like this, rhe red parts are the early learning bit

While the blue bit is for the community

That’s starting to improve as it is showing it’s a defined portion of the building.
The building is clearly intended to fulfil both groups.
A quick search kept bringing up the preschool. Is there a website for the community part? I found one group with regular sessions there must be more?
The nearest equivalent have been US churches with schools.
I’m pretty sure if you can find the websites that you can show community usage. Maybe a photo inside to show the defined space?
