Not accepted wayspot

Hey all,

I want to learn why this wasnt acceptet:
This is a bench, that cant be removed, and its in a place where you can walk and sit. its near a route on pokemon go, so i normally sit there after i am done with my route. and was thinking hey this should be a pokestop:

Title: Bænk ved Lily Brobergs Gade
Description: Bænk tæt på Lily Broberg Gade, så man kan slappe af på ens tur
Support description: En bænk man kan bruge til at slappe af, bænken er et godt sted så man kan se over bylivet mens man slapper af

The mail i got: Unfortunately, our team has decided not to accept your Wayspot nomination.

Our team found it did not meet the criteria required to be accepted and has been rejected. This decision could be because of the title, description, location, photo, or a combination of criteria. For future nominations, please review our [Wayspot criteria help articles]

Welcome to the forums.

Unfortunately it is just a bench and a piece of infrastructure. Benches are common and cannot all be wayspots, so they need to have something extra to make them eligible. Being somewhere on your route that would be a good place to have a wayspot is not what makes an object eligible to be a wayspot.

Please have a look at these for understanding what makes a good wayspot.

Examples: being dedicated to a notable member of society (not just a local person), having an amazing view, being dedicated to the armed services, being artistic and unique. These can make a bench eligible.

Thanks for the fast information!! this will help alot of understanding why it was rejected in a clear way. I will try my journy of find a new spot.

Wayfaring (finding things that will make good wayspots) can be fun and addictive. A lot of people make mistakes at the start, mostly because they think the aim of wayfarer is about creating pokestops. This is a reasonable assumption, given the wording in the Pokemon Go submission process.

Wayfarer isn’t about creating pokestops, but about finding interesting and eligible things that will make good wayspots, which can be added into the database from which Niantic chooses what will be added into Pokemon Go.

Reading through the criteria pages I linked is useful

Looking at what is already in Pokemon Go is less useful, because sometimes things get accepted (by community review) that maybe shouldn’t.
