Papulu Apparr-kari

At the Papulu Apparr-kari Aboriginal Corporation in Tennant Creek, you can explore Aboriginal language and culture. They offer a wide range of helpful books designed for both learning and teaching the language. These books include QR codes, along with drawings and pictures to assist those who may have trouble reading. Additionally, the corporation provides various guides to enhance your understanding of Aboriginal culture. There is also a useful app available on the App Store called “Arranji Yukurnukku Jinta!” what this word means is for the monster The name reflects its focus on the language. The location is 17 Windley Street, Tennant Creek.

I believe this place would make a great PokéStop or gym for the game, as there are currently not many options in the area for people to connect and engage with.

Hello and welcome,

This seems like a really interesting place to explore, so I think it would make a good Wayspot submission. You can find more info about how to submit Wayspots here:

We can produce various other books, T-shirts, and clothing for purchase at the Papulu Apparr-kari.

I’ve also put a wave spot submission in already since I have reached level 40 in Pokémon go and this is what I put in it including information and photo

Home of language for Tennant Creek and the Barkly Region. We work tirelessly to ensure language and culture lives on for the next generation of leaders to learn and be leaders of their language and culture.
because a lot of people in the community connect with this place

Thank you. I’ve already put a request for it to be a stop location.
Me and my colleagues put some really good information about it, including some good pointers

Unfortunately, we in the forums don’t decide on submissions; rather it’s either the AI system, also known as ML, or your community of reviewers. Once a decision has been made, you’ll receive an email.

We’re pretty global here, so I can’t say I know anyone from your review area (I’m in the US, BTW).

Uh, have you used the pictures with the Pokémon for your nomination?

Hi, welcome! Please do not use these photos in your submission, Pokémon AR photos are not allowed. If you have already sent the nomination and it has not gone into voting yet, you can withdraw it. Instead, use two photos you took yourself showing both a close-up of the place for the main photo and a picture from further away and any context a reviewer might need to verify it is really present with the help of Street View and maps.

This looks like a highly eligible place, just please don’t use these images as you are setting yourself up for a rejection.

Yes, I have. Do you think I need to change them to the full-fledged of the building? Or do you think the Pokémon pictures explain the building? I only used the Pokémon ones because they were too shiny. I caught them on the day, and I have my own body.

Oh that’s really bad, you can get penalized for that.

Including extraneous objects on the photo is not allowed. You should only photograph the building or a sign for it

Thank you for helping me. I did not get told of the rules so I am making a new one right now.

To also ask a question would drone shorts count?

If done by yourself (not a 3rd party photo) then yes

Items sold there (like books) are not relevant. Those items are temporary.

A wayspot should be a great place to explore, socialize, or exercise.

Of what you shared, the museum itself and the mosaic would both make great wayspots. Also any murals or permanent artwork. Perhaps different permanent displays in the museum. Maybe the sign for the Language center.

Just don’t group them TOO close together or they won’t all show up in your game. (But they could help other Niantic games.)

This place is not a museum, but rather a valuable resource for everyone to learn about Aboriginal culture. It focuses on teaching Aboriginal languages in classrooms and also supports the younger generation, as well as our elders, in passing on their knowledge and wisdom.

The books and app games assist with the aboriginal language to better understand their culture. They also contain their stories, their beliefs and their way of life within the culture

I have submitted two requests for the Papulu Apparr-kari Aboriginal Corporation. I put in a second request because I was advised to change the photos, which I have done. I hope the new photos accurately represent the building. It would mean a lot to me if this location could become a PokéStop, as there aren’t many nearby in my town. I believe the corporation deserves recognition for their contributions to the Barclay region and beyond.

If the location is aimed at educating minors, it will be rejected as “Schools”. Even if adults really enjoy teaching the children.

If the books are permanent exhibits, like 200 year-old documents under glass, then sure, submit them. If they move around and are sold, then don’t - no matter how wonderful they are, none are permanently placed.

I would strongly suggest withdrawing the first one, if it is not in voting and the button is still available.
