Parks and Squares should have different rules regarding Pokestops / S2 Cells

We all already know how the dynamics of S2 Cells work and we all know how they hinder the addition of new pokestops that could help the community progress.

I bet this isn’t just here, but using myself as an example, there is a park in front of my house that only has 10 pokestops (and no gym yet!), but has the potential to have at least 30 pokestops.

Many players (including me) need to leave our neighborhood to another neighborhood where there is a park with 35 pokestops and 5 gyms (before the S2 Cells rule), as it is the only place in the city where you can really progress and play satisfactorily at events such as community day, raid day, legendary raid hour, etc.

Niantic should review this S2 Cells rule when it comes to Squares and Parks, these places should be allowed to have at least 3 pokestops on each size 17 Cells.

You’d need to raise this request with the Pokémon GO team via your app as Wayfarer itself doesn’t care how close Wayspots are when it accepts them.

Hello,
I understand the frustration very well.
Back in 2018 this was the situation that we faced locally. The significance of having no gyms in our local parks was hitting home as we had no exraids and had to travel to other areas to play to qualify.
That pushed me to being able to do what became wayfarer.
What I learnt then was that it was better to work with what the situation was and find and create stops and the gyms that would follow.
Using the information you have really look at what you have locally and focus your efforts. I came to realise the value of submitting some wayspots that wouldn’t necessarily appear but sat on the subs bench for PokemonGo in case a change happened and a stop had to go. But also with powerspots it is clear that there is now potential that some of these could appear as powerstops.
Some of those “subs” I can now play with :sunglasses::grinning:
So in terms of wayfarer we can’t do anything about the decisions that Pokémon Go make in terms of inclusion. But you can continue to work to include as many eligible wayspots as you can and create a robust long term play area by creating as much potential as you can.
