Accepted Pokestop not appearing after over a week

Hello,

My Pokestop nomination was accepted well over a week ago, and it has still not appeared in game. The acceptance email said it could take up to 48 hours but over a week seems a bit much.

I get that not all Waystops appear in every game but surely there’s no reason as to this one would not appear in game. Or do Pokestops appear in game only when the app updates?

That is too close to the nearby wayspot (Koulukatu 25 leikkikenttä) to become a pokestop. Which looks like the same playground actually.

Thanks for the comment. It’s not the same playground. Koulukatu 25 Leikkikenttä is the playground for the building next to this one.

It’s weird that they’re supposedly too close to each other, since I regularly see wayspots right next to each other.

EDIT: Also it confuses me that the Waystop was approved at all if it is too close to an existing one.

Well distance is not the entire ruling for proximity for in-game inclusion, see also: https://pokemongohub.net/post/article/comprehensive-guide-s2-cells-pokemon-go/

Wayfarer itself has no proximity rules. If something is eligible, it can be added to the database, even if it’s right on top of another wayspot.

It’s the games that have their own proximity rules. If a new wayspot doesn’t meet the proximity requirements for a specific game, it won’t appear in that specific game, but it might be able to appear in other games, or it might end up only appearing in the wayfarer database, with the potential to be used in future projects.

I have the same problem

Thanks for sharing!

Several Niantic games encourage experienced players to nominate Wayspots for their mapping database, Lightship.

Once accepted into the database, each game (ingress, Pokemon Go, Pikmin Bloom, Peridot, and Monster Hunter Now) use unique game dependent inclusion rules to populate each game board.

Unfortunately it seems like your accepted wayspot doesn’t meet your preferred games inclusion rules.

This will show you the situation

In each case you can see the position of your wayspot relative to the other and the cell boundaries.

If you want to avoid the frustration of this happening do read up about cells

You should be aware that you will not see every Wayspot on the map if you use that method @Brabel

Niantic in their infinite wisdom have decided to make Wayfarer a game of mystery.

Even though the only real mystery is why because most people know about cells, everyone knows that almost everyone knows about cells and everyone knows that if someone is going to abuse the map now they will do it irrespective of cells and keeping it a mystery is only causing frustration to the few like yourself who don’t know.

There is never any need to apologize for this, and you can feel free to use any language you are comfortable with on the forum. People can translate it. NvlblNm has a sense of humor that takes some getting used to. If we can help you with something, please ask!

How can i see the map of cell like u

The tools in Ellie’s screenshot include:

  • IITC, a map of portals in Ingress made usable by the community
  • Pogo Tools / pogo-s2, a plugin for IITC which displays two levels of s2 cell, among other things

hello, i hope i could find some answers. I have this issue when accepted POIS are not appearing in the game. I added them through ingress and even if i know they wont show in pokemon go i thought they still might appear as power spots. But they didnt even appeared in the intel map… and its almost over a month. thank you

If your nominations were accepted, they’re in the Lightship database as Wayspots. However, if they’re not appearing in Ingress, they’re likely within 20 meters of an existing Wayspot, and therefore ineligible to show in that game based on its inclusion rules.

If you care to show the names and locations of some of these (not required if you’re not comfortable doing so), someone might be able to check and see if this is what the issue is.

Oh, and welcome to the forums @RycerzBlaszka !

oh, i know the 20meters stuff. i nominated quite a bunch of POIS. then… i think i made a mistake doing it by ingress and not by pokemon go… cause i think it ignores that rule. If i made nominations throught pokemon go now, it will go as duplicate but there is a chance it will appear on the intel ? and hi ^^
