POI getting removed after attempting to correct location

Hello all! I’m writing this because I’m confused and wanting clarification and possibly help on how to possibly remedy this if I’m understanding things right.

There’s been a POI in the wrong location by quite a bit, so much so that I have to exit the building and go to where it is in the game. I only found out you could put in for a location change from my first post on here recently so I finally got around to try to correct it.

I used the help support bot and filled it all out. I finally got a response saying they reviewed it and are instead removing since it doesn’t meet criteria.

support response to location change request:

The reason I’m confused is that the POI in question is an official USPS building, which is stated to as valid in the criteria. It is also a stand-alone building.

A screenshot from the criteria section still listing post offices as valid:

The POI:

How far off it is:
(the pin is where it is currently)

I’m hoping to get some attention to this and some insight.

Thanks all!

I don’t know what can be done at this point. I do not believe it should have been removed, but if another Wayspot in the cell has already been promoted to a Pokestop, then it may not show in game even if reinstated. I hope the team can help.

The wayfarer map is still showing the post office, but that may simply be out of date.

It looks eligible. If it doesn’t get reinstated at the correct location (approximately 35.862524, -101.971471 by the customer entrance), you could resubmit it for the community to review.

Hi @berto124 , apologies for the confusion. I have restored the Wayspot. Once the changes get synced, you should see the eligible Wayspot appear in the Niantic games.

The submit map was not showing it. The submit map has live Wayspot data, but not live Pokemon Go status data, so I did not share the screenshots to avoid confusing. But I checked that it was truly gone before I answered.

The Wayfarer Map is now showing the restored Wayspot here, so it should be eligible to remain a Pokestop. The corrected location appears on the Wayfarer Map now.

This screenshot shows that the Power Spot will probably sync out of use now that it is too close to this Pokestop.

I wonder if the mistake was because the reviewer thought it was a duplicate of the Power Spot import. Those are not full Wayspots, and should not have been considered in that decision. I guess we will never know.

[My post was originally very “train of thought” at first, so I edited to clean it up. Hope this makes sense now.]

thank you so much!
Being recently new to browsing through community posts, I thought I had missed an update on criteria on these types of POIs. I really appreciate you for the quick and easy resolution!
