Gracias!

Hello from Argentina. A Pokestop near my house, at coordinates (-34.8157442, -58.1624335), simply disappeared this morning. I can’t find the reason; the stop is still listed in the system, and I can’t find any explanation for its removal. Could someone help me appeal the decision to remove it and tell me how to proceed?

Thanks!

There is a few possibilities…

1/ Some sort of error.
2/ Someone reported it as Inaccurate?
3/ A “Property Owner” request.

Staff don’t usually work the weekend so you may have to wait a while.

Is it possible you could take an image to confirm the item is still at the location?

Good luck.

Just noticed that the 2 sets of co-ordinates in the screen grab are different to the 1 in the text?

You may want to explain for when staff take a look.

Hi @maurovega79
I’ve moved your thread into Wayspot Appeals because that’s the category where Niantic/Scopely will make decisions for requests like yours.

It can be that the wayspot does not meet the requirements for inclusion in the specific game. Keep in mind that the pin must be placed on the real object accurately.

These coordinates pin on the road by a tree.

You can send a GPS-tagged photo if the current wayspot location is inaccurate to the real location.

Basked on the current position, only one Pokestop can appear in game (either the playground or the swings). This is due to their location relative to each other.

It appears that the swing set has been moved multiple times. You have shown an accepted location edit, but the current coordinates of the swing set are different to your accepted coordinates so a second location edit has occurred.

Given what you described, the swing set might have been eligible as a Pokestop when it was located somewhere else, but then as a result of a move the game inclusion rules were recalculated and it is no longer eligible.

If the location of the swing set (-34.815635, -58.162567) does not match the actual position, you could request a location edit via the Niantic Help Chat support on the Wayfarer website. The satellite imagery isn’t great quality, and there is no streetview, so taking a photo of the area and showing the location relative to the playground would assist Niantic in ensuring the location is correct. You can attach photos when making the report to Niantic.

(There is a shadow a bit to the south of the current swing set location which to me looks like it might be the swings, however I would feel more confident with an additional photo.)

If the current swing set location is correct then you are out of luck. Niantic has rules about how many Pokestops/Gyms can appear in one area as a way of balancing the game. Based on their current locations, the system is working as intended.

IMO: Although there is a gap I would class the Swing set as part of the Playground and therefor a “Duplicate” falling foul of “Playgrounds should be nominated as whole and not individual playground items.”.

thanks!

I understand, but, why the pokestop was accepted? I only moved the location a few meters because the PokéStop was right next to a gym. It was accepted too. But now, after a month or two, it disappeared.

Sometimes reviewers will Accept a wayspot that shouldn’t be.

The pin should be located correctly, moving a waypoint to manipulate a specific game board (in this case Pokemon Go) can lead to warnings and suspensions (these will be with wayfarer as well as the games) so it isn’t worth the risk.
Only attempt location edits on waypoints that are incorrect and moving them to correct. Even moving from 1 correct location to another correct location can cause sanctions.
The swing set (even if Acceptable) only has 1 correct location. The Play Park may have more than 1 entrance which would have been acceptable when nominated but once it is at a correct location it should not be moved.

It is possible that it was reported or it came to staff attention for some reason. They have taken a look and found it should not have been accepted in the first place and removed.
Or someone has done a location edit to move it to it’s correct position which as triggered a “only 1 wayspot in a cell” density rule.

So how can I appeal ?

You can try getting it moved with help chat

As @wooperIooper states you could use “Help Chat” but…

A: You would have to show evidence that the “Swing Set” is not part of the “Play Park” and therefor not “Duplicate”.

B: Show evidence that the current location is not correct (in real life, ignoring any wish to get it to show in game).
