I had a wayspot submitted (photo below) that was randomly selected to be reviewed by Niantic staff. It got accepted but was for some reason placed in the wrong spot. I requested that it get moved to the right location and the next day it was in the right spot as a pokestop. Today I went to the location it was at and the pokestop was nowhere to be found. It still shows up on the wayfarer map as a pokestop but it is no longer in game.
What happened to it and can I get it to reappear?
The info on the wayspot:
Hi,
Unfortunately it is in the same cell as Oak Park Stage.
As only 1 wayspot can be selected in each cell for Pokémon Go it means yours can’t appear as a gym or stop. It is possible that it might be a Powerspot.
Edited to add
As it is a simple memorial bench it really ought not have been excepted in the first place, please only submit such bench’s if they are for someone who had a significant role in the local community eg a mayor.
I see there is a large number of similar benches.
Ok thanks for letting me know. I was certain it was in an open cell but I guess my map must have been slightly off.
What do you personally use to check for S2 cells. I’m wondering since it may be more accurate than what I use.
Also funnily enough this spot was specifically screened by a Niantic staff and accepted, even though it is a memorial bench.
Well we are all human.
Using the wayfarer map is the most accurate way
There are some community developed plug ins that allow the cells to be seen. As it isnt appropriate to give the link, google wayfarer tools. You will find a link on that page to the Wayfarer Discussion Discord where you can get assistance.
For clarification I wasn’t trying to insinuate that the staff person is bad at their job or anything.
Ok thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I’ve been using IITC, which I’ve found is sometimes inaccurate with the cell lines.
IITC is not innacurate with the cell lines, its only outdated since its a seperate company now.
