Wayspot location edit approved, pokestop disappeared

There’s a water tower that had the pokestop location off by about 40 feet and I submitted an edit to move it to the correct location. The edit was approved and the pokestop disappeared while associated routes became archived. The wayspot is still present in ingress, and a friend tried resubmitting the waypoint but it was marked as a duplicate even though the pokestop has been gone for almost a week. Any suggestions on if there’s a way to get the pokestop back at either location or is it gone for good from pogo?

If your GPS coordinates are correct, it is now in the same cell as MMAC Fitness Center and thus is not eligible to appear in Pokémon GO.

The wayspot is still present in ingress

Ingress have split from pogo and no longer connected

This wont work. The waypost is now in correct and no longer eligible to appear because its on the same cell with another wayspot.

I am sorry but you might want to learn about s2 cell to prevent future disappointment

I have this written up for when I see a wheresmypokestop question. I know the prompt tells you that you are submitting a “Pokestop” but you are actually submitting a Wayspot to the database. The Wayspot can only become a Pokestop or gym if it is alone in a level 17 S2 cell. The S2 cell use has not been officially confirmed as far as I am aware, but staff has acknowledged there is an additional step after acceptance. If its in the correct position, its gone for good as pokestop but depending on location, it might still appear as power spot in future.

Welcome to the forum, I’m sorry it’s under confusing circumstances.

I appreciate that you have corrected the map. I am always an advocate of accuracy. Though that has prompted a recalculation by the Pokemon Go game board. Based on its rules (details above), this location will no longer show up in Pokemon Go as a Stop or Gym. It may show up as a Powerspot though.
