Pokestop Approved in game took away the nearby pokestop?

hey everyone, I need help understanding or working out what’s going on with pokestops that were accepted in my street.

We have quite a few pole paintings on light poles in the street and I have a Street library outside my house.

I’ve uploaded a picture of my pokestop that was already approved in game and was an active pokestop.

I then uploaded a flower pole in the same area. But in the same s2 cell. (Keep in mind I know there can only be one pokestop within a s2 cell) however I thought from videos I’ve watched from YouTube That by doing this the second stop that gets accepted will turn into a power spot.

What’s happened is the flower pole got accepted as a pokestop. And now the little free library has disappear all together. Is the pokestop gone forever and I just can’t re submit it again?

Is that Little Free Library in someone’s yard? My guess would be that is was noticed as existing in review, and reported for removal for SFPRP (single family private residential property) if so.

You can check to see if the Wayspot is truly gone in the nomination map screen if you start a new submission while you are right at the location physically. It will show as an exclamation point that you can tap on if it is still in the database. This feature only works while you are very near the location physically. Alternatively, you could tell us the location and someone could check. (Edited to note that you may not want to use this option since you have mentioned it is in front of your house.) If you still have the submission email, the gps coordinates will be below the second photo.

If it is determined that this Wayspot has been removed but is in an eligible location, you could appeal for reinstatement in Wayspot Appeals but if this was a request from a property owner, Niantic would not be able to honor it.

I see that you say it is on public land and not on private residential property in the description. That information should not be in the description. Also, being reachable from a public sidewalk is not enough to make the location eligible if it is on SFPRP.

The community has noticed there also seems to be a distance requirement in order to be used as a Power Spot - 22m from the nearest Pokestop or gym. Also, Power Spots seem to be added on a much less regular sync than Pokestops - they are usually added to the pool of available locations once a month around the 4th and may or may not be rotated in.

I am the property owner and I didn’t request it to be removed. I have also checked when I got to submit again and it’s not there not even as an exclamation mark either. So my assumption is it has been removed from the database.

This library is located and publicly accessible via the side walk. It was already approved and was an active pokestop which is so weird.

It did not have to be you. It could have been an affected neighbor. But it most likely was just removed for being in an ineligible location. You cannot just give permission to have a Wayspot on your SFPRP. I will link the clarifications on this issue:

If this is in a public easement and not on your personal property and you can present evidence that this is allowed to be there, then you could make an appeal for reinstatement. Otherwise, I would not appeal or resubmit this.
