i know you couldn’t upload the photo, but are you able to share a screenshot or a screen snip of the plaque nomination you are confused about being called a duplicate?

Wayfarer can look simple but situations like this are complex.
So the bandstand is what is topping everything else in that purple box appearing as a pokestop.
Unfortunately there is nothing you can do about this as those are the selection rules that the community worked out and there is nothing more that can be done in that small area that will give the result you are hoping for.

The game developers at Pokemon Go decided that this would be the best way for them to ensure a distribution of pokestops and gyms across the game board. They never talk about it but the community worked it out.
Its their game and they make the rules.
