It could, so you should make sure that you are accurately placing location pins while nominating. This wasn’t for the garden, it was for the building, and so a misplaced pin could be seen as abuse.

There is a small square on the south side of the building. Next to it on the north side, there is a POI marked as a fitness gym on Google Maps. Could either of these be a Wayspot/PokéStop?
Also, when specifying a building, be sure to place the pin at the entrance or side of the building. Placing the pin outside the building will be considered tampering with the game board. Many people have been suspended for 30 days due to misplacement of submissions. Do not do this under any circumstances. Absolutely not.
It could have still be moved by the appeals team before they approved it.
i just do the nomination while walking my dogs in a hurry. didnt know it has to be surgically precise otherwise you can get banned if its some meters away. Noticed. in the future if i ever do a nomination again i will make it as perfect as possible. also its not easy doing it on the phone. Thanks you guys wish you a happy summer

It’s always best to take your time when submitting a nomination. If you’re in a hurry, maybe take a note of the POI and go there later to put in a good nomination, instead of rushing.

Just a couple of comment…
- You are actually more like 30 metres from the “natural point of entry”.
- Your position actually moved it to another cell.
Both of these can make staff consider this as trying to manipulate the game board and “could” lead to warnings / suspensions / bans depending on any previous transgressions.
If you live within 10km of the waypoint you can take the photos then nominate when you return home.
Yeah i understood now. I am just a casual gamer, didnt think it nominating should be that professional. i thought just click anywhere within the area of the building you are nominating. Now i know it is that serious and you can get banned for that. Will not happen again
I am just giving personal example. I got warning and suspension because i am trying to missplace wayspot and edit location into empty cell Just be careful. Missplacement of wayspot submission into empty cell is subject to abuse ladder system
They didn’t say they got a warning/ban. They are noting that they hurried on this nomination and misplaced the pin, thinking it was find to place several meters away.

As a casual player but definitely a casual wayfinder, you have probably found all this a rude awakening.
It is confusing as Pokemon Gongives the impression that it is all very simple which is not the case.

Thank you for submitting a Wayspot nomination! While some nominations may be deemed eligible by the community of reviewers on Niantic Wayfarer for inclusion into Niantic’s location database, they may not necessarily be added into every Niantic game. After a nomination is approved by reviewers, there is an additional automated review that determines whether the nomination is an appropriate fit for each particular Niantic game. Each game has their own set of criteria for this step, so some nominations may be accepted into one game but not another.
The most common reason that an eligible nomination is not added to Pokémon GO is because the nomination is too close to existing PokéStops or Gyms.
As a friendly reminder, submitting Wayspots away from the object they represent to manipulate the gameboard is considered abuse and may lead to serious sanctions on your accounts.
