I’ve also got a stop here called “Wegmarkierung 4/7 vor Seathändler” that isn’t showing up in Pokémon GO, even though it should actually be in an empty cell. The stop has been reviewed and approved by the Niantic team, so it should be valid. Would someone be kind enough to have a look? That would give me some certainty. Many thanks
If you are able to post the GPS Co-ords that are shown in the email you received when you 1st nominated we can take a look and see if there is an obvious reason.
For future reference you would have been better creating a new post. If staff wished to comment adding to another already solved post will make it easier to be missed.
This is my first post here, sorry. The number under the submission photos is 48.519141, 13.319836. Now I finally know where you always get the coordinates from Thanks for your support.
Hi and welcome, I moved your post to a new thread and would indeed suggest creating new topics for new questions.
There is no wayspot at these coordinates on the Wayfarer map (you can check for yourself using the first tab on the Wayfarer website).
There is however a wayspot called Wegmarkierung 4/7 vor Seathändler at 48.519010,13.320193. It shares a cell with a different wayspot. The markers themselves don’t appear to be clearly visible on Street View, but this appears to be the correct location for it, there is no such pole where you pinned this initially and the nearby car dealership roof is visible in the photo. If this is your nomination, it appears it was initially mispinned, but has been correctly moved during review. It is not eligible to appear in Pokémon GO.
I notice that you are aware of cell issue. But please be warned that missplacement of wayspot submission into empty cell in order to make pokestop is considered abuse and subject to abuse ladder system.
I’ve been aware of the issue with the cells for exactly two days now, ever since I asked about it in our community. I’m definitely not doing anything wrong on purpose. You go for a walk, set a checkpoint, and think you’re doing the right thing. But you’re right. I don’t want to have to constantly worry that I’ll be penalised every time I set a checkpoint. I’ve already received a warning once for an inappropriate photo. For your information, it was a waymark above a junction box with something smeared on it. Someone else then submitted the waypoint and had it approved. And I got the warning. I’ve also had a warning before for a really cool holiday accommodation on my trip to France. I think the reason for the penalty was that it was supposedly on private property. Even though it was listed on travel websites. And I think another reason for a warning was once a two or three-metre deviation – so nothing earth-shattering either. I now find it quite humiliating to be accused of such things. I’ve submitted a few more proposals, but after that, it’s definitely over. I also hope nothing gets mistranslated here. I’m working with a translator. I wouldn’t want to get banned for that as well.
And one more thing. I’m not exactly young anymore. When I set stop-loss orders, I often use voice control because I can no longer read the screen. And just reading the comments here – with the insinuations people make about me – is enough to make me tremble. Just saying. Not everyone who sets a Waystop is a deliberate fraudster.
Ok. So you have received a few warnings. You have now found this forum. I would suggest moving forward, if you find something, get feedback from your peers on here and learn from what is eligible and what isn’t. You learn from people who know a lot and have made far worse mistakes than you and as a community can help you improve not just what you submit, but also how you think about what you submit.
I don’t see the previous responses as insinuating anything that you have done. Rather, they are making you aware of the potential setbacks that you may encounter for similar issues. IMO they are opening a path forward for you to be wary of those pitfalls.
I am sorry if my post feel offensive to you but i am saying this from perspective of other wayfarer that receive suspension before. I got my suspension from trying wayspot missplacement and i am warning other to not make the same mistake. You were saying that it should be in empty cell, which clearly missplaced in other cell. If you got reported, its likely that you will receive warning and/or suspension depending on abuse ladder system
You wont get this issue if you double check your pin location and re pin it to correct location. Pin default position will be where your gps pick your location (this is not wayspot location) which is why many people receive warning because missplacement
Please feel free to write in whatever language is more familiar to you instead, this forum has a translation tool.
People want to help you keep your account safe, you can take or leave the advice, and everyone has been completely respectful to you. I am sorry to hear the discussion here and previous warnings made you feel bad. You are the one who initially insisted it was in an empty cell. This is fairly advanced knowledge. It is impossible to know up front with what background, level of understanding and intent everyone who comes here does. It is similarly difficult for the Wayfarer team to assign intent when reviewing such cases. A significant part of people who get warned are completely unaware that placing something incorrectly is a risk - many of them believe they are genuinely helping a game they like in the process of misplacing and that this is something that is wanted by Pokémon GO. This is why we prefer being very clear about this, and it is nothing personal. Your intent doesn’t really matter in the case of a warning.
There are people of all ages and all positions on the spectrum of ability on this forum, and I would suggest not assuming things about them either We are happy to try to help with your past warnings or rejections - if you are willing to share. From the sound of it it’s not quite clear to me if these were warnings, bans, educational emails or text in rejection reasons to your nominations - all of these exist in Wayfarer and we can help navigate that with more context. In some cases it’s more about a deeper understanding of criteria - vacation rentals can indeed also be single-family private residential property, but without seeing any further detail I can’t say if this was the case in that situation you mention. You are of course also free not to continue at all, but engaging with a knowledgeable community and discussing your nominations often sets you up for success. Good luck
I usually stick to the spot suggested by the game, as my eyesight isn’t as good as it used to be due to an eye condition. To be honest, it’s all a bit too much for me. I’m too old for this sort of thing. It keeps me preoccupied for days on end. I’m sorry, I’m just going to give up on the submissions. So far, it’s only been warning messages, but even that is extremely unpleasant. Perhaps I’m too sensitive to it. And on the subject of expert knowledge, just because I’ve known about this map for a few days doesn’t mean I have any expert knowledge. Until today, I didn’t even know where to get the coordinates from. Yesterday I wanted to add something to this map because I was out and about. So I stood right next to the stop and tried to mark it with my finger. So much for expert knowledge.
I can relate. When I began nominating, I did not understand how to move the map to the right spot. I tried moving the pin I saw, but nothing happened, so I just left it there. Sometimes I would bump the map and not notice I had moved it. Everything was so small, and especially outdoors in the bright sunlight, there was no way I could see where I had the pin set in relation to the real world. Now I know that I move the map around the pin symbol, and that I can zoom in on the map, of course, but it was not intuitive to me either.
I realize that sometimes warnings not to use knowledge about cells to misplace pins reads like an accusation, but that is just for protection. I often don’t think to add that statement when I tell someone about cells, and then later have been told, “But you said to put it in an empty cell to make it show up!” And often people who are not involved in the conversation will see a post out of context. So now I do try to add a note that cell knowledge should only be used to know where to look for points of interest, not where to put the pin.
Please note that if you ever do feel that you are being attacked on the forum, you can flag the post for staff to review it. You do not have to engage. The FAQ is a little difficult to find for me, but I will link it here: FAQ - Niantic Wayfarer Community
I think you may find a guided step-by-step approach a more pleasant experience. This forum and several groups exist to provide such support. I cannot do Wayfarer without my predecessor’s guidance back when I started.
Let’s go back to basics and start where you are having trouble.
Do you know that you can submit remotely by 10 km? Having somewhere comfy to sit and think while doing the submission greatly reduces the stress of it for me.
No, I didn’t know that. But then there’s probably an even greater risk of being off by two metres. I usually fill in the description later, because otherwise I make too many spelling mistakes with voice control.
In my honest opinion, it is still case-by-case basis. Shadows, satmaps, and other website posts are your clues; even then human error differs per person. Although if you are having difficulties with specific steps, you can do it not alone.
What we can do is plan your map for you now before you do hit submit. If you are open to share the coordinates of areas that you would like to develop, go for it. If not here, I recommend the Wayfarer Discussion Discord.
I use the Hold feature for my nominations (for the reason that I procrastinate my lengthy descriptions).
And now that Draft Mode is out (needs some improvement though), you can mark off potential nominations without the panic that it might go into review before you cross-reference the inputs.
