Do murals, graffiti, and any type of wall art have an expiration date? Because these artworks wear out over time, losing color, and even rain can ruin the art, and even the owner of the place can paint over the artwork.
In these cases, do we have to send a removal request for the PokéStop/Gym or Energy Point? Or does it disappear over time?
I recently sent a removal request for a PokéStop; the PokéStop was a high school for minors under 18, and the removal request was rejected.
You can appeal the rejected removal report in Wayspot Appeals
Murals are the one thing that do not have to be reported for removal. You can update the photo of the mural instead if they paint a new one. Everything else that has been replaced with something new has to be reported for removal and the new thing resubmitted if the new thing is eligible. The only way I can wrap my head around this distinction is that the wall is still the same wall, but Niantic has not explained it that way. Will try to find a link to that statement about the mural and edit it in.
I’d recommend sharing this in the Appeals thread with the details of the wayspot and the email with the rejection. I’m a bit surprised this was rejected for removal but mistakes can happen.
I believe they rejected it because it didn’t even enter the game. I noticed it on the map here on Wayfarer, so I sent a removal request. It was accepted, but it didn’t enter the game because it’s already in a valid cell. There’s no point in sending it there then. Thanks for the help.
I pulled this up on the map and do not see any wayspots in the central campus area so your request may have actually been granted?
The school itself focuses on technical courses for high school and beyond. So this would need to be reviewed more closely if things to come up at this location.
